DCS dropped off my Renegade manifold for my 82 Crossfire today!Tongue

Some may recall that I let DCS use my stock 82 as a beta test mule; they installed the original prototype Renegade and we got 33+ RWHP increase. I put a good 1,200+ test miles on it and really felt the difference when we took it off and reinstalled the stock manifold! SOTP doesn't mean anything, but for MY SOTP - there was a marked difference - the dyno numbers proved that also. (FYI: My before and after dyno info is the property of DCS, so it is up to them to provide that) I will however, be going to the dyno soon after I get the new finished product installed next week and will post the actual results.

Anyway, they brought me my finished manifold today and I can hardly wait to install this beautiful thing!! Mine is a Pre-Production #3 of 3, the full production is now starting and they should be shipping them out soon.

I will post some pics as I install it.
Thumbs Up

Wow ! If you can get those kinds of results from just a manifold change, imagine what might happen if you upgrade the exhaust too Big smile       Dragster

Finished the install yesterday and it is really nice to have the Renegade back on my 82!!!
The install went good and spent the whole weekend doing it myself - kind of in a Zin state for the last 3 days - just me and the Vette!

I have only 20 or so miles on the new manifold since yesterday and my SOTP dyno is simply saying - WOW!Shocked

*OD Miles 149,000
*Gas: Chevron 91 Octane
*Dead stop to WOT - marked difference!
*WOT at 45 to 55mph - Whoa!
*Idle - Smooth!
*Water Temp: Outside temp. 88 degrees/My temp: 180 degrees
*Oil pressure seems a bit higher, but not 100% sure yet on that.

I'm taking it to DCS tomorrow and we will balance the TB's and check the fuel pressure - I broke my Fuel Pressure Assembly during the install, so I don't know where its at, but it will be set to 14 psi.

I highly recommend anyone with CFI to get one of these manifolds - your car will Luv it!!

I was at Jim's house last night with Tom (DCS guys) and we balanced the TB's and fixed my broken fuel pressure assembly; now my 149k mile 82 CFI is running unbelievably great!! It feels like I dropped a new motor in it!
I did some test driving through his neighborhood and a short time later there were several cops in the neighborhood on a report of loud noises....Shocked My side pipes really wake up at 4000-5000 rpmLOL

On the way home, my 82 and Tom's had a nice run for a little while, until the photo radar vans appeared... both 82's have the Renegades installed, so this was a first!
I just cannot say enough good about DCS and this Renegade manifold - WOW!

Phill, keep talking like that and you are going to cost me $$$$$.  Im curious about gaskets.  Does the Renegade use the same bottom gasket and top plate gasket as the standard crossfire manifold?

LOLSorry!
It uses the normal gaskets for the manifold, but the suggest you use Felpro 1205 and not use the cork gaskets for the rails - rather use Permatex "Right Stuf" which I used with no problems. The top plate uses Permatex Ultra Blue RTV - no gasket needed. The install is fairly simple IF you halfway know what you are doing under the hood of a CFI and/or C3.

Sorry, but you gotta get one.... your CFI will love you for it!
