Now I want to install this pump and would like to know if I can use the same stock fuel line. Or do I need to replace this line too. Which looks to be a difficult task. Also there is hardly any room to mount a fuel pump under the gas tank other than just above the muffler on the frame. Which could be problems with the heat from the muffler. Other than removing the spare tire cover altogether I cannot see a good place to put the elect. fuel pump.  Does anyone have pictures of their set up. Holley fuel pump instructions show a fuel filter, the fuel pump, another fuel filter all under the tank, and then on to the regulator at the carb. It looks like to have all these filters at the fuel pump then I will have to remove the spare tire cover completely ever so often so as to change these filters, and thus a shut off gas valve should be the first step, or I would have to drain the gas tank.  So how do you get all this stuff under or near the gas tank??

Thanks for the picture and I had measured that area for the fuel pump but I want to keep my spare tire cover. And the only other area is close to the muffler. I like the bracket set up!

Here's a better picture, had to move a car to get under there. This should show you the routing of the hoses. I attached the outlet hose of the fuel pump to the existing line on the frame. As long as you are using a low pressure fuel pump (not fuel injection) you should be OK.  Especially since the 68 has a vented gas cap.

I have been reading all the fail safe methods to shut the fuel off if you were to have a collision. There are so many different sensors, relays, to shut the fuel off in a emergency.  Some will shut off the fuel pump if the oil pump is not working, others will shut it off when the ignition is turned off,  if the engine is running and you are in a collision and can't turn it off. Inertia switch etc. etc. etc.  Revolution Electronics has a controller that will not allow the pump to run if the engine is not running. But isn't that what the replay that comes with the electric fuel pump suppose to do. I can't use the oil pressure switch, because the 68 did not have one. ???????
