Anyone know of a source?  Yes, I'm still finding ethanol induced crap (little black pieces of rubber) in the fuel filter, sigh!

Unless your pump has screws around the perimeter of it, it ain't rebuildable. It is, however, replaceable...
Why do you think the crap is coming from the pump?

I think more than likely its coming from any rubber hoses between the pump and the tank (since I replaced the others.)  But I'd like to clean out the pump to be sure.  Won't the diaphragm disintegrate with ethanol as well?  And yes, the tank is on my list to clean since the fuel gauge is screwed up anyway.

Guess I'll have to buy a reproduction pump for $35 instead of a oem for $179.

Even though the engine was swapped, I try to keep original parts in case I ever want to restore her to new.  I think its a losing cause, I surrender.

I'm sure I'll getting her running again soon.

If the diaphragm was coming apart enough that stuff was getting to the carb filter, you would have fuel leaking either into the engine, or from the "weep" hole in the side of the pump...or both. Can ethanol damage the pump diaphragm? Sure it can, eventually. I be more suspect of the fuel lines, myself, or junk from the tank...or from the fuel tanks/pumps where you buy fuel. Big smile

I replaced the rubber lines on mine a while ago..I used the fuel injected type high pressure hose that was made to work with ethanol..I think I got it from NAPA..or the GM dealer in bulk..as they build E85 cars they need that..might be able to find some at a boat dealer too..had to be careful of the one from the pump to frame as it liked to get kinked but I got it to work..my tank is clean but I'm sure you can run the car out of gas and wipe down the inside of the tank with shop paper towels or have it cleaned at a radiator shop if you want to remove it..we all are fighting the ethanol battle..I never keep much gas in mine and use the Turbo blue to slow down the rubber eating quality of ethanol..and use stabil in the tank also..idk..there may be no way other than finding a station that doesn't have ethanol in their gas but they are getting hard to find..I know of only one here in town and it's a hit or miss whether they have it that way or not..

The guv-ment is pushing for even higher ratios of ethanol in fuels...trying to get 15% or more in the next year or so. Very few places will have non-ethanol fuel these days....Censored

You can go to pure-gas.org and find locations in your town that sells non-ethanol fuel.
