I have been purchasing parts for my 350 to clean it up in the engine compartment. I am now wondering about a pair of good headers. I only drive this vette in nice weather less than 500 miles a year and it is garage kept. A few questions that I would like to get other thoughts on, first are there a good pair of headers that I could put on and they will last without getting ugly. If so which ones are they. second question is, if I go to headers do I lose the ability to keep my chrome covers around the plugs and down from the distributor. And the last question is can I still run the plug wires close to where they were from the factory or does this become another issue. I look forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks in advance.

1. Ceramic headers will outlast almost all others, except stainless steel.

2. You can keep the chrome covers, but it's more difficult. No problem until you get under the headers. You can get there, but it's much easier to go over the headers. You can still keep the chrome cap cover.

3. See number two. You may need to make up custom wires to fit.

I have hedman ceramics on mine...probably have about 2000 miles on them and they still look new. Great thing about the ceramic coated headers, they don't generate so much heat and I do have the wires running in the original positions without any problems to date.

I went with Hooker ceramic coat heaters. Here is a picture of the plug wire routing

Where did you get your heat covers for the end of your wires?Does that keep them from getting hot, burnt and hard from the heat? Looks nice.

Sorry for the late reply. Julia has had my laptop in Portland for the last wee, so I have limited access. Have to use my daughter's when she is not around LOL

. The boots are working good so far. Just did about 700 miles round trip to Portland for the Mt Hood Corvette show and the plug wires are still holding up. I got the boots from either Summit or Jegs, can't remember which one at the moment. Must be old age LOL

I have Flowtech ceramic headers. Great fit, no dimpling required!!
