As part of my winter car work, I'm installing a Holley Blue electric fuel pump soley for use with a small nitrous oxide system (NOS Cheater PN 02001). I already have a Holley mechanical fuel pump in place that I use to feed the carburetor. It uses the stock fuel line to deliver gas from the tank. I know to mount the electric fuel pump in the rear of the car near the gas tank. I will run a second fuel line to the front of the car for the nitrous system. Does anyone have an experience and advice on where to install the electric fuel pump and (most importantly) how to get a second fuel supply line from the tank to feed the inlet of the electric fuel pump? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you don't mid the noise...cause that pump will be noisy no matter where you mount it. You'll need to put it as close to the tank as you can safely put it, of course. As far as getting fuel to it, you'll have to install a "T" into the fuel line coming out of the tank, with one line going to the front mechanical pump, and one to the 'lectric pump. The problem with this is, you're gunna need some way to isolate the 'lectric pump from the system until it is needed. If you don't have some sort of shut off/check valve, the mechanical pump will try to pull fuel backwards thru the lectric pump. I don't know if Holley pumps have a check valve in them these days....might be something to find out.

Thanks for the advice.

I've read that the new billet pumps (PN 12-125 & 12-150) are much quieter than their standard Blue and Red electric fuel pumps??

Also, how easy/hard is it to get to the fuel line coming out of the tank?  Do you know what size / material this line is?

On your '79, the fuel sender/lines come out from the top of the tank, down the passenger side of the tank, then along the frame. You should be able to tie into the line right where it meets with the frame there. The fuel line is either 3/8", or 5/16"....not sure. My '74 is 3/8".
