Ok all, as you see in the pic, I have side pipes.  The last big trip we made (Eureka Springs, last fall) Jennifer couldn't stay awake and I had a really bad headache.  Figured out it was exhaust gasses.  71Shark and I glassed in the access flaps for the rear bolts and looked for other areas but couldn't find any. 

Recently when I was changing my accelerator cable, I noticed a few holes in my firewall that were open(no plugs). Perhaps a peek up under your dash may reveal an opening into the engine compartment. Just a thought........

Corvettes have had sidewinders on them for many years, with no issues like that. Sounds like yer engine may be a tad too rich AND you have some exhaust leaking into the cabin.
If it comes down to it, you can keep the pipes on for the looks, and run a "regular" exhaust out the back. A chambered undercar system would sound just as b!tchin as sidepipers.
Are ya'll CERTAIN there are NO leaks in the exhaust from the manifold dog nuts, and the welded(I assume) "U"s from the manifolds to the pipes? Are your pipe outlets turned down, or out?
