As always I come to the experts. I am looking to put a new exhaust in my '81. This car is not original and will be a keeper for me and my daughter. As you may remember, my daughter is the only 1 of my 3 kids (other 2 are boys) that have shown an interest in restoring the vette and has threatened her loving father with certain death if he ever thinks of selling.
Current engine is a lightly modified, naturally asperated 330hp, 350tq small block. I had the original manifolds replaced with headers and the "fine mechanic" who installed the headers got the wrong ones. So he cut the original exhaust in order to weld a custom pc in but never finished the job. The headers are junk, so i'm replacing them.
Now, I'm looking for a headers to tail pipe exhaust. I'd like to get a true dual exhaust with cats because of potential inspection problems and I would love it to be bolt on as I don't weld and I really don't want anymore "fine mechanics" working on the vette if possible.
I saw corvette central has a couple of options but the ones that seem reasonable are sans cats. I suppose I could cut the pipes and add them but it would be nice to have a kit that already has them engineered in.
Thanks,
Dave
