Are the slip in mufflers for Hooker sidepipes required?  Would they be too loud without them?  What about backpressure?  I am looking at installing Hooker headers and sidepipes on my '79.  Thanks

running them straight on a big block is so loud and obnoxious you cant really hear yourself think.  you really get into the realm of being so loud you irritate harley riders.

I have the glass packs in mine, not too loud except with the pedal to the floor they are loud. I wish I had gone with the flow thrus (the ones CTHULHU likes). My buddy has the flow thru and they are nice sounding. They also are the cheapest muffler. DaveM2010-04-28 04:42:23

 As long as we are on exaust, I am going to put a 2 1/2 in system on my small block 350. Up from the 1 7/8 - 2in. I am trying to stay close to original, with a up grade in H/P. Can I get, is there such a thing as larger O.E.M. RAMS HORN exaust manifolds? I have looked on the C-3 parts site on E-Bay to no avail.   THANKS.   Mark
