In another thread I mentioned I wanted a deeper sound from my car and someone suggested chambered inserts.

After listening to sound clips I ordered Sweet Thunder chambered inserts.  My glass packs were a little challenging to get out but it didn't take too long.  Once I installed the sweet Thunder inserts and started the car I was smiling ear to hear.  Holy crap !   My 350 is aggressively built with lopy cam - add these inserts and its exactly what I was looking for.  At idle the car is mean sounding, under throttle its not mean - its down right angry !

I generally take first gear down my street at about 10 miles an hour to keep it quiet on my way out.  My neighbor was outside so I took my foot off the gas and the backfires were amazing.  I was totally focused on the sound every time I layed off the throttle to shift.  I need to record a clip for you guys - just don;t know how to do it.

I took off of work and drove it a lot today, I also posted in another thread that when I drive it and it gets hot there is a metal click / clunk that comes from the bell housing when the clutch is released.  I really think i installed the throw out bearing incorectly.  I went to the Vette Shop in PA (not sure what town that is)  I asked them how much to install a new clutch and they said $700 (ish).  What do you think of that cost ?  It's a lot of work to pull the shifter and linkage, trans (cross member doesn't come out of my car) and then the bell housing.  Then to boot I already did it wrong once !  but that's not to say I am afraid to try again.  $700 or so seems kinda fair as opposed to me climbing under the car and doing it -- but I thought I would get your opinions.

Just put in a dual exhaust chambered set from MidAmerica and it sounds fantastic on my 79. This motor is stock but it gives it that great raspy rumble from a chambered exhaust and fits all of the stock mounts/manifolds.  Great kit and very affordable.

It make sit nice to have a garage with a pit to work on car with. $700 is kinda much I think, but I dont run a professional shop. It's only a few hr job + / - in and out. But then I have had mine out so many times can almost do it blindfolded :) Good luck with what U decide. I live in Pa also in Berwick.
