Hi guys and girls.
I have an edelbrock 600 carb on my car with a manual choke.  I have the choke fully open all the time.  I Just pedal it to get her started when its colder.
anyway, I love the carb, it has great response and is perfect for my motor.
However, many times while im cruising around town and turn at a redlight or onto a side street from coasting (not when im stopped but when im moving) throughout the turn the motor will act like its starved for fuel and almost cut out. But it never does.  it just misses a beat and gets rolling again.

any ideas? could there not be enough fuel in the carb bowls?

Jeff, has it always done this? Maybe a sticky float of something. Run any fuel / carb cleaner through it?

I'm no expert on carbs so just takin a stab at it.

Hows that sexy cat of yoursLOL

Take a hammer to it...fix it right up!
AFB design carbs have the floats mounted left/right, so they can, on occasion cause flooding on turns. I'd be more inclined to believe this is what is happening. You didn't say if it only happens when turning left, or right, or both.
Prolly need to adjust the floats, or it may simply need a new top gasket.

I'm a big fan of AFB carbs, but I haven't been all that impressed with the Edelbrock made ones...

Then again, it may not be a carb/fuel problem at all. Could be a wiring issue...check to see if the connectors for the coil and stuff are nice and tight, as well as the wiring for the alternator. You may have a wire, or harness that is moving when you turn corners, and possibly either pulling a loose connector, or even shorting out against something.

Joel, i meant to say but forgot.  it usually only happens when I make a left hand turn.
I checked the wiring and it looks pretty solid.  Ive had this problem from the first
day I installed it.

EBO - I forgot about that - too funny. I havent seen her much lately.

I had an Edelbrock 600 CFM on my 327 and that little motor screamed. Good carb in my book Thumbs Up, never skipped a beat and easy to tune/adjust. Never ran into your situation though - and I made rotsa refts!! Big smile
