Just wondering if anyone has ever taken their C3 to the track and what they did?  I was wondering what I might expect out of my stock 81'?
   Thanks,  Tom

Road & Track magazine did a performance test on the '81 and it turned the 1/4 mile in 16.0 sec. @ 86.5 MPH.

Unfortunately for me, you have an 80 HP advantage.  1981 was only rated at 190 HP, yours is rated at 270 HP.  I think it will do better than 16.0.  How much better is yet to be determined.  Thanks

My biggest problem is that I don't really want to modify the car I have now. It's just too clean and all original. But I do know where there is a 74 or 76 that I can get for around $2500.00 that runs that I wouldn't mind modifying. It already has a different engine in it.

You don't need the NOS. My bottle is full but has never been activated. If it's a new system, I would sell it.

I guess I'm old school. I don't believe in nitrous. If you can't build a 10 sec. motor, don't build a 12 sec. motor and then juice it and tell me it's a 10 sec. motor. I have lost too many races to guys who can't cut a decent light but can spray it in the middle to make up for their lack of skill.  Just my opinion.   Tom

What rear-end ratio do you have? That will make a big difference. My '81 with a .287 probably won't make 70mph in the 1/4 although I have never tried. It's just a cruiser as far as I'm concerned.
