I just went and looked at your pics...that hood is NOT original to the car...it is the later '80-'82 style hood. The front bumper cover is also molded into the body...I'd guess your car has had quite a bit of modifications over the years, from the pics.

Yeah the gap between the body and the nose cone has been "bondo"'ed.Want to get that taken care of during my paint and body project later down the road.Probably shrank over the years and was easier and cheaper to bondo.If you look closely at the pics you can see where someone cut the front fenders to keep the tires from rubbing.Looks like they did it with a chainsaw.Gonna fix that too someday.
So will be looking for an original hood now.
With the exception of the batwing style diff,are there any other differences on the frames from 79 to 80?
