Here are the latest updates.

Nov 10
Jan 11

I also did a major audit of all my expenses so far.  I haven't logged every rattle can of primer or some misc hardware from the welding shop but all corvette parts are now logged.

btw..

I wouldnt recommend anyone with 2 teenage girls and a toddler taking on a frame-off on a vette...   It is so hard to stay focused.

Joel's email a few days ago shocked me into action, I logged on my website and realized i had pretty much not touched my car in 8 months.

I remodeled my kids bathroom, opened a new casino in another state, took a few vacations, attended a few out of state meetings and seminars, did quite a bit of work on my jag, bmw and my saturn which became my daughters 16th birthday present.  I started a new business with some of my co-workers and I have a very busy day job.  Just this last week I replaced the central heat and air package unit at my home as well.  So I have been busy..  just not on the corvette.

I did some work these last 2 days just to break the pattern.

and while I was working in kentucky for the most of the summer I did get to visit NCM with the family.

All progress is good, even if it's just a little at a time. It's quite a challenge to completely restore something that was so dilapidated. Keep going!

yet another minor update.

btw I am trying to find a couple of heater box nuts.  These are larger than the ones you get in the multipack kits.  You cant buy them separately and im only missing 2.  Does anyone have any spares?

I've got various size stamped nuts in the drawer Ben. If you know the size, I can check.

BTW, I used the rocker molding repair kit and also installed for a couple of local buddies. They work fantastic!! One hint - pay more attention to where the holes in the molding line up best rather than just mounting in the old factory locations.

Let me know on the speed nut sizes.

Nice job on the upholstery job, Ben!!Clap
I still don't know about the vent knob...it kinda looks like a door lock knob, don't it? I'll look at my '74 this evening and see what they look like. Of course, they prolly won't be the same as the '69 anyway, but now. I'm curious.

im going to try to get the other seat torn down and primed this evening.  then one more day for painting and that should leave me recovering the drivers seat thursday night.  I do need to order a few things...  the pot metal chrome piece on the drivers door is junk.  And I still dont know how to sew the headrest covers on so I may get those done at an uphosterly shop.

Ya...the pulls on my '74 are smooth as a baby's' bo-bo. Completely smooth, rounded edges, no circles on the end. They also appear to be a little longer than what a door lock knob would be. I didn't measure, but they looked to be about 2 1/2-3" long.
I can't believe no-one with a '69 has chimed in yet....Stern Smile

I'm not sure if mine are correct, but the pulls on my '69 look just like yours, with the groves on the sides & top.

the side grooves were what intereted me.  I had never seen those on a door lock pull and thought they might be original.  Thanks

Baby steps! Thumbs Up
So, did you do the headrests yourself, or find someone to do them? They look great.
