The latest issue of the NCRS "Restorer" magazine showed up today, and it has an excellent article on '73-'82 Corvette build sheets in it, written by one of our members here. Tom(hunt4cleanair) has written several articles on this, and other subjects, including tires/rims. He does his research, for sure. I wish I could post it here, but of course I can't....that dadgum copyright thing, ya know?
Anyway, it details some of the differences in the build sheet formats from different years, and is definitely an interesting read. The build sheet on my '74 was long gone when I bought it, due to there being a recall on the fuel tank vent system for a problem. The tank was removed way back when, and of course the sheet was destroyed in the process....Cry

Always great reading! Just finished the article yesterday.
Thank you Tom for the research, well written.
Someday hope to find mine.

Found build sheet for mine in back under carpet but it was for a car 2 numbers from mine???

Where can I find or get a build sheet?

I will post later the VIN of the one I found, maybe someone is looking for that one.

Not unusual to find someone else's build sheet in a car. You can go to the "Research" tab at the top of the pages, and go to "C3 Registry Data", and put in the info for the car in question(year, body style, etc), and it will bring up a list of all of the registered member's cars here. From there, you can look at the VIN #s, and see if one of them matches the paper work you have. Ya never know...someone here may have YOUR build sheet...Approve

Wow!  I didn't think that this was that common of a problem.

I have the same situation.  I found the Build Sheet under my carpet and it was NOT for my car.

I have looked in C3 Vette Registry Research but dind't see the VIN for the Build Sheet I have.  If anyone has a 1980 Vette with the following VIN, I would be happy to send the Build Sheet to him / (her).

1Z87AS408371
