Anyone have any info/suppliers for putting spinners on 1981 stock wheels/center caps?
I don't trust the 3 set screw type . Tower type will not fit the wheel center hole. Can't find anything short of investing mucho bucks in a new set of wheels made for spinners (Torq Thrust, Halibrand, etc.) Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Have been searching/racking my brain several months now. Hope someone can help me. Thanking you in advance.

I have been running the 3 set screw hubs with spinners on them for 10 years, and only lost one once (1978 car).  That was right after I put them on and I suspect I did not tighten that one enough.  I have the aluminum cones too that hide the lug nuts.  It makes the wheels look a lot cleaner (IMHO)  I got mine from Ecklers.

Thanks for the feedback. Guess I don't trust myself enough to tighten the set screws properly.

Did you use any Loc-tite (blue) on spinner hubs or spinner?
Did the spinners affect your wheel balance at all?
Would you say they are a good alternative to pricey wheels with spinners?
Thanks a bunch.

I have the ones from MAM.
3 are tight. Driver front is loose, but won't unthread.
Drove to Charleston, SC and back. Vettes at the Beach and back. Carlisle and back. No problems to date. Knock knock on wood.

They are a pain to get at the set screws and you better keep that hex wrench handy if you need to take a wheel off.

No imbalance that I have noticed.

I like the style.

Here is a picture of my spinner.

Thanks for the additional info. I am 68 years old and can't pop wheels off and on as easily as I used to. Will get a set and hope for the best. Plan on using blue locktite for the hub screws. None for the spinners. I do believe that with proper mounting and care they should work.
Thanks to all for the replies.

I have never had a spinner come loose so in my mind, I would not put any loc-tite on those threads.  Putting some on the set screws would not be a bad idea, because I HAVE had them come loose.  The time I lost the entire hub and spinner I was on a corvette poker run. It fell off, hit the pavement and bounced over a beautiful, yellow C4 that was right behind me...they almost fainted when they saw that go UP and OVER their car. Embarrassed  wheeeeew
