78 vette only had a few components of the cruise control left on it when I picked it up a few years  ago ( garage find). Installed a Rostra wireless remote control switch, servo, etc and after a few bumps in the road ( learning the system) it's finally operating as advertised. Car had a cruise control switch and wiring but I chose not to use it.  We spend a lot of time driving on long vacations and it makes the trip a lot more enjoyable. No more up and down maintaining 70-75. Just info you, Enjoy the summer.

  Thanks for posting the info.

I'm building a car that I want to put CC on but the column doesn't have the wiring or switch built in. Where did you get this system, what does it include and what is the approximate cost? All info would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Chuck

Chuck, You don't need a previous cruise control for this system. It comes with a  12 volt servo that physically controls the carb linkage with a cable,( servo has about  30 lbs of pull power which will retract linkage with no problem, It's used on RV's and larger trucks) the servo gets it's wired signal from a controller ( small box I put under the dash) . The servo also gets a signal from a pick up coil and magnet mounted close to the drive shaft. I also got the small wireless remote switch that has a clip. The remote switch has the accel, decel. set and resume.I clipped mine on the plastic moulding above drivers head. you can mount it on the steering wheel but I found that to be awkward. I'll attach the website I purchase it from but other shops carry it also. They will install it for you if you find a dealer close to you. http://www.thecruisecontrolstore.com/motor-home-hot-rod-classic-car-truck-complete-cruise-control-kit/  The universal one is the one I got. Ask for pricing because it depends on what vehicle you are installing in on. I'll check later but I think it was a little over $300.00. I have the vette up on the lift so I can send pictures on all three components mounted if you like. Might be tomorrow though,

Thanks much, pics would be nice, but there is no hurry it will be months before I'll need it. The car that I would like to put one on is a 1940 Ford Coupe with a Corv. TPI engineThumbs UpThumbs Up, it's in the paint shop now, hope to get it home soon and start putting her back together.

  Thanks again, Chuck

Great taste in the wide variety of cars. Vette is on the lift so I'll snap some pics today. Depending on what speedometer input you use , you may not need the coil system. I'll take pictures of what I have. Don
