I am in the process of doing a limited restore on my 74.
I am going to paint the car. I haven't decided on color yet. I think the original was Silver Mist, it's is an option. The car was white when I bought it. I am thinking Medium Red but I really like White Pearl.
I will also replace some of the interior. Door Panels, Carpet, some minor parts.

My question
If I do this and later decide to do the frame will I be able to take the body off the frame without wrecking the paint.
Most of the frame looks good but there are some pretty rusted areas at the back end. No holes but lots of
"corn flakes"

It has been over a year since I started. I had to quit the project so the car just sat in the garage. I was able to get started again in May 2012. As of July 27 2012 I have done the fiberglass repairs and applied Slick Sand High Build Primer.

Bill, you can pull the body after the painting, but of course be careful. When I pulled mine I left the doors off for the ease of connecting up the body harnes to the frame in the front and rear of the door areas. I also used a engine hoist to lift the front clip with the whole body. I removed the radiator and ac condenser, then re-installed the radiator support frame. The radiator frame is what I lifted with the cherry picker.

Bill. Hi I done what your thinking of doing ..and regretted it...with the body off ..you can work on both at the same time...body and frame ..and I think you will do a. Better job

I like what you did to your headlights.  Did you fabricate that yourself or use a aftermarket product to mount in the headlight space?

I agree with that. If I had the time and space I would remove the body but I just don't had that right now.
My old garage has a 7'-0" ceiling and I don't have another "bay" to set the body. I'd have to put it outside.
A new Garage with 10'-0" ceiling is in the future. That will be out at the farm I bought.
I think I can do the body now and the frame later.
I'll just have to be very careful.
There's some mechanical issues as well, AC has been removed. All the Dash components are there but nothing under the hood.
