Hey just wondering what a fair price is for a decent used big block hood? I'm seeing like $500 to 1K....jeez Louise...kinda spendy.
2nd question: seems like there are 2 options....the L88 and the other with the pointy divider that runs rearward. I think the pointy one has chrome on the leading edge of the low part. I like them both. But, does one impair your view more than the other? Seems like the L88 is really tall and pretty wide down the center. I'm also confused as to which years/models had which. Straighten me out boys...which is which?

$500 don't sound too bad if it's in good condition.
The L88 looks so much kewler....had one on my old '72. While it IS taller than stock, it really doesn't effect line of sight while driving...unless yer really short. LOL
'68-'72 hoods will interchange with no problems. '73-'77 hoods will fit if you remove the wiper door & related stuff....which a lot of folks have done over the years, due to having too many problems with the dang thing working properly. Thumbs Up

The L88 hood isn't much taller at all than the stock '73-'77 cowl induction style hoods.

I didn't understand the longer hoods but now that all makes sense. When did you get an L88 and when would be, what, the standard big block hood? What is that LT1/big block hood called? I need to see em up close I guess.

The L88 was only available in '67, '68, and '69. The LT1/big block hoods were just called that...LT1/big block hood.

HERE'S a pic of my old '72 with the L88 hood. At the rear, it's not much taller than the cowl hoods on the '73-'77 cars, but it IS taller at the front of the hood, but still isn't in the way for driving.
