My youngest grandson's first question was about the window crank, What's That he said. We had a good chuckle on that one.

When my kids were little I used to let them play in my 57 BelAir in the garage while I worked on it or some other car. They used to pretend be driving and all that. They might be occupied for a couple hours. I miss those days....Now they are young teenagers but still ask, daddy, when will you finish the brown car? They've never seen it run.

Kids are great and fun to watch. My granddaughter is seven and is a little thing weighs all of 65 pounds.

She love the little car as she calls the corvette because she gets to sit in the front seat an tune the radio and run the windows up and down.

She will spend time out with me when I'm working on it.  The car needs a paint job so I let her do things that I would never let her do once it is painted. I let her climb all over it.  Up and out of the top down the windshield sliding down the front.

The other day She said something like - when you get this painted grandpa I can't do this anymore.  I don't think you should paint it.  It looks good now - .

Kids are cool and grand-kids are cooler.

Yes they are cool! I look forward to passing on the torch in whatever level of interest they exhibit. They will both be taught to drive manual trans cars. Everyone should know how to run a car through its gears. Someday I'll paint my vette too but right now its nice not having to freak out cuz someone parked next to me at the grocery store (happened tonight, both sides...and after I parked waaaay out in the sticks).

The problem I have is my wife said if it is not as pretty as her she will not ride in it.

Actually I said that.  All she said was it was ugly and until it get painted she will not ride with me.

Of course I like my version of the story better.

a couple years ago a woman 30 ish was upset with the keyless entry on her escalade.
me the ever helpful type ( BIG lie) i asked what the problem was . she says she can't get in her car , i said let me see your keys. i take them , find the door key , open it then take the other key and started it. stepped away and said there you go.
she was speechless, she probably still wonders what happened.
 i hope she doesn't vote.
