Whats the best auto insurance for classic cars?
I tried Geico and they farmed me out to a third party.
I'd like a real company that doesnt want an arm and a leg.
Thanks
Bob

I have Safco for all of my cars, rentals and home now.  It is sold through independent Insurance agents.

They have a Classic car policy where you declare the value and driving terms they set the price based on that.

I used to have different insurance but have slowly gone to Safco for everything.  I have never had an issue with a claim and I like the idea of an independent Insurance man handling my business.

I may be a number to the company but I'm a real person to my agent.

I have had Safco for my cars for over 30 years and have had people run into me and run into others ones never had an issue.

I have http://www.hagerty.com for my classic cars.  Make sure they fit your needs (i.e. low mileage driving; garaged; etc.)

I use JC Taylor (800 345 8290). I only pay about $125 for the C3, valued at 15.5K.

I had to make a claim once for another car, dropped an alternator belt and had to get the RX-7 towed 20 miles. They paid for 100% of the bill and surely lost money on me that yr.

I have State farrm home insurance, and last year a tree fell on my storage shed (14 x 16). I had a lot of my Vette and other car parts inside and since I own the cars that these parts go to, they wouldnt give me a dime for them. About $7000 worth of parts down the drain. So I wont be giving any extra of my $ to State Farm.

Thanks for all the have responded, I'm leaning towards JC Taylor, good rate and easy to get a quote.

I have three cars insured with Hagerty. Canadian (Ontario) insurance is much more expensive than US but I pay only $500. PA for all three and can more or less drive them when I like provided I have full insurance on my daily driver. Hagerty even provides roadside assistance for about $50 more and it covers all 3 cars. They won't be exposed to much risk of a traffic accident with the vette for a couple of years though...

I have Hagerty. Up until last week I was very pleased with them. Then as I drove the 74 for gas 2 weeks ago someone coming the other way hit a tire that shredded from a large truck and it caused damage on the left rear when it hit me. The adjuster was out in 2 days and I had an estimate from hagerty within another 2 days. But their estimate isnt even close to what the body shop estimate is. so for now I dont know if I am going to like them or not. They have been very good on phone calls and have told me to let the body shop and them work this thru. Guess I will see in the next few days if I still like Hagerty! Rodney

I've got Heacock on boith of mine. Stated Value, full coverage, towing, etc. The '74 has a lower mileage limit(1500 per year) than the '85(3500 per year), but I've never put that many miles on either of them in a year, anyway. Low rates(for Texas).
I originally had them with a local guy that did Classic/Collector car ins., but he sold it to Heacock, so I stayed with them. Haven't had to make a claim yet, so don't know how they are to deal with....hope I never have to find out, either!

I second the use of the Corvette Museum.  You support the museum, you get inexpensive coverage for your ride and Adam Boca is a good guy as well as an enthusiast so much so that he sports at least one Corvette tattoo.  I have had one claim (windshield) and they paid immediately and did not question the invoice.  Certainly all of the classic car insurance rules and they have yearly mileage options.

JC Taylor gave me a $131.00 discount because I store them in a garage with a monitored alarm & sprinklers. So now it's a little over $900.00 for 4 cars
