my question is: If I am going to attempt to build a car similar to Kubecks sp, what are the reasons that the 1970 Corvetter is the one to pick to start out with. He put $180,000 into his, so the year Corvetter selected is sort of irrelevant price wise. What reasons is the 1970 the one to start out with as opposed to others.
Considering the '70 had the lowest production numbers of any vette, it would seem wrong to modify if it was even close to original Confused. For that kind of money, you could make a beautiful vette out of a Volkswagon beetle.

Michael, I'm sorry, I hijacked your post by mistake.  Not sure how I got mixed up like that.

Glad the link is what you're looking for.  I've come across that you tube video multiple times in my browsing for cool C3 vids.  That one definitely fits the bill.  Smile

I'm right there with you.  Engine rebuild + front suspension rebuild + many things clutch related + a few more things in the engine bay + a bunch of paint products + a few things in the interior + well you get the picture.  It adds up fast!  Ouch

This is unfortunately why I sold my Stingray.  I just could not keep up with everything required, especially when I was heading down the custom road.  I'd love another one someday though!
