The Factory Service Manual(FSM), or "Shop Manual" for the later cars, is THE manual to have for any repairs/troubleshooting on your car. "OEM" simply means Original Equipment Manufacturer".
Having the FSM on a disc is nice, BUT...I'm old skool...I gotta have a big honkin book to carry out to the garage when I need it. Having it on a disc is ok if you're looking for something to send to someone electronically, but if trying to work on your car, it's a little hard to drag a PC out there, and have it laying under the car with you.
Haynes, Chilton, and other repair manuals are just too derned generic, and may not have the info/help yu need for every system on the car. The FSM does, and well worth the cost. I buy one any time I run across one, even if it is for different year model. Ya just can't have too much information....right?
