I need to check my oil pressure sensor.  The dash gauge has very little movement in it when running ,say 35-41 and when the ignition is turned off it stays at 35.  Am I correct in thinking the pressue sensor is located under the distributor.  Thanks for your help

On my 72, it's on top, just aft of the intake manifold.

Is it an electric gauge or a mechanical gauge? The mechanical gauge had a plastic line that went from the back of the gauge to a port at the back of the engine near the distributor. I'm not sure if the electric gauge's sensor was screwed in there or if it was down near the oil filter. BTW, the connection at the back of the mechanical gauge was notorious for seeping oil down onto the radio. Which is why I replaced mine with copper tubing. I believe the mid-years had copper tubing on theirs. Don't know when they switched to the plastic tubing.

'81 has an electric gauge. Sending unit will either be down by the oil filter, or just behind the distributor.....I think it'll be down by the oil filter on this one.
The electric gauge(s) do "park" at something other than "0" with the key off. Key on, before starting, the gauge should register 0.

I found the sending unit , it was below the distributor.  I tested the unit by disconnecting the wire to the sending unit and then turning the key on.  I was told if the gauge pegged to either side that the gauge was working properly. It did peg.  Previously if I turned the key off the gauge would go to zero, now it just stays about where it was, so I ordered a new sending unit.  Then I read the post that said the gauge tends to stay above zero when turned off.  It will be interesting to see what happens when I install the new sending unit.  A big THANK YOU to the help I received from contributing members,  it really helps when fellow members send there suggestions.  Thanks again, Dan
