Depends on the ramps, Rick. Anytime you're going to be working UNDER the vehicle, you want to make sure you don't scrimp on the quality of the equipment holding the car up off your head.
Another thing to watch for with ramps is the angle....some are too steep, and the front fenders of a Corvette will hit/drag/scrape on the ramp....not gud. You can use some 2"x6" planks to extend the ramps out to where this doesn't happen, but again, that depends on the ramps themselves.
If you prefer ramps over jacking/jackstands, there ain't nuttin wrong with that. Just get the best you can afford, and make sure they are sturdy.....shake the car side-side before crawling under it, to be sure it won't go anywhere.
