Well the 74 is home briefly. The day we brought her home from the mechanic the new window motor arrived from Corvette Central. Go figure. Our guy had to make room in his garage for his Dad's Chevelle so she's been home for a week.

My wife's been wanting a Shark Bar for awhile now so I ordered her one for her birthday. Hopefully Sassi will still be at the mechanic's when it arrives & we can get it installed without her catching on. Apparently the next big step is going to be adding fuel injection. There also seems to be an issue of the steering wheel not exactly moving with the wheels...
Sassi is also having a pair of black seats installed from a 2004 Z06.
I am VEEERY interested to see how that looks (and works).  I've thought for a long time that I would like to do that in my 74.  Please make sure you include details as/when you do that

Well I think one of the most important things to watch out for is the condition of the seat tracks. We couldn't install the seats with full functionality because the tracks were bad. So they move front to back like the old seats did but none of the electrics work. I'd read about how comfortable the newer seats are when they are functional so I was pretty disappointed. But my wife seems to be fine with them so I'll let it rest.

On to the Shark Bar. The part itself was very well manufactured once we received it. Confused The only problem was that it took forever to get it. Apparently Vetteworks has been having some severe issues with the server that houses its website. Not only is it impossible for a potential customer to access it but vetteworks can't access it either. I hope the problem gets resolved because they are a fine company to work with otherwise.

The bar had some difficulty being installed because my wife has a CD changer in one of the rear compartments. The original mounting holes couldn't be used. New holes had to be drilled forward of the original holes. The bar is mounted. It arrived after her birthday which was a shame but since it was at the mechanic's anyways it didn't matter much.

While we were admiring the bar Rick (our mechanic) told us that he believed that he was closer to identifying why the wheels move independently of the steering wheel. Shocked Apparently both differential yokes were bad. He showed us the play in the rear wheels. So... I ordered a set of yokes. They arrived yesterday. I'll be taking them over to his place this afternoon.

There are also some issues with the Steeroids possibly being installed incorrectly. Apparently the turning radius of the front wheels is not as wide as it should be. The result is that the car has to be put in reverse to complete turns.

On another note I had my 1 year MRI & the tumor is according to the doctors "stable." I have another MRI in 2 years. Clap

Glad to hear about the good MRI, Chris! Maybe after all this stuff gets done to the Vette it will calm down for a while. Good luck!

Congrats on the positive MRI. I think the turning radius loss is normal, at least I haven't figured any way to improve it and I've heard others make the same complaint. Keep the faith brother Thumbs Up.

Hope the following years are no different with the MRI check ups Chirs - and that your biggest worry is finishing your Vette projects...

All the best.

Sassi does seem to be a never ending project. Late last year the driver's side window motor died with the window in the down position. So once again she's been in the garage instead of out on the road. My wife doesn't want the threat of rain to do any damage to the interior. I'd ordered a new motor & its sitting on a shelf at the moment. I also ordered her a kit to put heated seats into her. That needs to be installed as well. Apart from those two items she's running just fine.

I happened to notice the get together in Charleston in May. Hopefully she has that weekend off & we can come down & visit with everyone. Handshake
