Thanks for the laugh. But it is depressing at the same time. Cry

Mine has been nestled away for a couple weeks now. Unhappy

We are holding out as long as possible before putting the GTO away. I'm hoping for another good weekend or two.

I'm hoping mother nature rebounds for the Corvettes for Chip show in Pa next week - that's the been the season close for me for the past 3 years running now.

Then a little Stabil, a coat of wax and a nice soft car cover....Unhappy

Going to put mine up today, or one day this week as we are going to have a heat wave into the 50's.
The last drive my low fuel light came on and I choose to drive home and not fuel up. So instead of filling up and letting it go stale, I'm guna leave it empty with a touch of stabil.

I'd leave a 1/4 tank with some stabil with some fresh gas in the lines. Not a big fan of starting up with the bottom of the tank in the lines...just an idear!! Big smile

Filled up the tank today; put in the Stabil; rinsed the car down; put down the carpet squares for under the tires...

The only thing left is the cover...

Is it spring yet?

Yep, Backed into it the Tuesday before OC! You'll see the damage at C for C. I was going to have the frnt touched up anyway from all the stone chips earned going to Effingham. This just confirmed it! I was one sick puppy after it but Lew (my painter) just laughed and said he would handle it. Goes in right after the Chip show!

I am hopping to get at least one more weekend before I put mine down to rest.
Sta-bil in the gas, fogging oil in the motor, raise it high so I can store stuff under it til spring.

Ive been reluctant about putting mine down for the entire winter....this will be our first winter together. Shes got a full tank and in our enclosed, detached garage and im afraid if i dont start her at least a few times a week, shell be a "b" to stat after the thaw. Is this a bad plan?

You don't have to start it a couple times a week, I'd say more like once a month. Make sure you pump the brakes when you start it to keep them loose.

Treat the fuel, unhook the battery, and cover her up. She will start just fine. I never start mine because of the moisture the cold to hot to cold on all the componets.

Hi Ebo. Yeah but you guy' s Vettes sound and appear in pristine condition. My girl is diamond in the rough. Will i do more harm than good? If i do start her once/ twice a month, do i still need to put Stabil in the tank though its high octane and full? I dont want to do any damage...

Sharon, I do not think not starting your car for a few months should affect it restarting again, you will have to pump the gas pedal a bit to get the fuel flowing but other than that you should be good.

We just talked about this in a thread a few weeks ago, Up here where it's cold for long period of times, cranking a cold motor and then heating everything up only to shut it down creates alot of condensation thru out the engine, tranny, and exhaust, even the frame. If you are able to drive it on the road for a while to get every thing warm and dri it may be ok. But you still are parking it back into a cold garage to just sit again.
I do not start mine at all. It once sat for 5 years with out being started.
Everyone has their own take on this but thats my story and I'm stickin too it! If you choose to let it sit and it does not start then we will just have to come fix it for you Wink

Pumping the brakes also keeps the seals moist and less seepage of air in or possible fluid out!! Wink

Yeah, there will be wails of dispair coming from Ohio if I can' t get her started easily next Spring. Already looking forward to next year, getting her out .....thanks again!
