OK, so the car is on the road...woohoo!! Now I can get it closer to being finished.  Other than a paint job I've got to get a few things started/completed none of which should stop me from bringing it to the gatheringClap. Unfortunately, the car is at the shop getting inspected and aligned so I can't do much with it not being here.  It's cold so I don't feel so bad.

I have to finish up installing the door handle and remote mirror bezels on the driver side.  Makes me nervous cutting the door panels.  Lights still getting caught up on the body when I turn them on but I want to drive it around and make sure there isn't any body settling after sitting for so long before I adjust them. Replace whatever is broken with the blower or switch or fuse.  Get an accurate reading on the coolant temp as it seems to be running hot and if so get the electric fan to kick on at a lower temp.  New spare tire.  Wipers still not working. I'm guessing its the switch since the motor worked when bench tested.  RADIO.  Rear compartment doors and frame rehab.  Re-install rear carpet as I did a half-assed job.  Good thing I didn't glue it down.  Plus whatever else pops up.  Looks like I'll be busy for an afternoon Wink

Nothing a little duct tape, twine and super glue can't fix!  All/most of it can get done after the trip.  Don't be surprised to see me bring the door panel into the room so I cut a hole and attach the backing plate for the mirror remote bezelLOL

...and don't forget your paintbrushes!  It needs a new paint job as well.

I am also looking forward to meeting you and to seeing what my car should look like some day.

Have you tried pulling the wires off the switch and hold them together to see if the wipers start to work?    Otherwise RainEx at highway speeds keeps the rain cleared.

John, I eye balled the passenger side and it doesn't look too bad.  Rainx already applied. I've got to check to see if I'm getting power to the motor then pull the dash(again) and start jumping the switch.

Way to go, Dave!! Feels good to see them move under their own power, doesn't it?

Hey Darryl, where did you get those valve covers, aren't they center bolt?

They are...  I put Vortec heads on the car when I rebuilt the engine and they have center bolts. The valve covers came from Jegs, as did the air cleaner.  But I've had to scrap the air cleaner because the hood won't close with it.   Angry
