Hello All!
Yes I am still alive and kickin. I know I dont get on here as much as I'd like to and the reason is because I am doing a none Corvette as a project. I can tell you this, we are very fortunate to have this group to go to when we need information or chat. I am currently spending time on a Dodge A body website and the fighting and bickering is unbelievable. So heres a thanks for being such a great group to belong to. I still fly my C3VR patches anywhere my 72 goes. Which brings me to my post here.
This past week I watched the weather very closely hoping for a nice weekend forecast so the 72 could take me to the beach for the weekend. As many know I only drive it when no rain is in site. As Friday approached the weather forecast was still clear all weekend. The trip to the beach is about 3 1/2 hours which I would have the pleasure of having my 25 year old daughter going along for. Her only rides in the Vette to this point were about 5 minutes at a time. The wife was down at the beach all week while we had to work! When I got home Friday night I made the decision we would be taking the Vette. Now just so everyone knows, we are at the beach almost every weekend, however I could not tell you what the actual beach looks like as I hate the sand, the water, the noisey kids, well you get the point so I havent seen the actual beach in 5 years or more. I spend my time at the golf course everyday. So i needed to take my clubs along. The weekend before I brought home only my clubs since I have a spare bag here at home so the clubs needed to go back down. I put the clubs in the back then the tool bag in case of an emergency, towels to clean the car once down there. The car cover so it didnt have to sit in the damp over night air. my sleep apnea machine, and a computer bag. That left enough room for the daughter to pack her computer and makeup. She handled this very well and by 4:45 we were heading southeast to Ocean city. I was surprised how much she enjoyed the ride. The Vette ran great as we traveled 175 miles. The temps were perfect and we arrived just before dark. She smiled and ask if she was riding home with me or mom. Told her it was up to her when Sunday got here. I covered the car for the night and 6:15 AM Saturday morning I jump in it and headed to the golf course. Again no issues and on the way home I filled up with fuel. I got 15.4 MPG which I was very happy with. I covered it again on Saturday night and didnt remove the cover until about 3:30 Sunday afternoon. (made the son drive me in his car to the course Sunday!)
The daughter decided to go with me again for the trip home. Traffic was terrible as it took over 4 hours to get home. The car again ran great and cruised at 65-70 on most of the trip when we were actually moving!
Its a weekend I will always remember as I got to share it with my daughter and when we pulled in the driveway Sunday night around 9:00 she looks over as says, "thanks for letting me ride with you this weekend. It was the coolest ride ever!") I thanked her for making the trip a memorable one I will always remember. I couldnt have ask for a better weekend to spend 8 hours in the Vette with my daughter. Its a weekend to remember!

Awesome!  I'm looking forward to my daughter and I taking our first long ride in the Vette next week.  Carlisle then the NCM Caravan.  I hope we have as much luck as you.
