I bought a '75 Stingray and it came with quite a few boxes of parts.  A number of these "Piston Covers" were included.

What are these for?

As I recall, it is a tool for holding the brake caliper pistons when installing new pads.

That is what it looks like tome as well. When changing brake pads you need to hold the caliper pistons in as you slide the new brake pads in place. It takes two for each side.

Yup...piston retainers for changing brake pads. Slide these in between the pads and pistons to hold the pistons in the calipers....makes changing pads a million times mo easy.

Thanks -- makes sense.  I just couldn't imagine where these would fit on the Vette. . .
