Adams' Apple said: Sorry fellers....I been sickerndog....
The "M74" is NOT the glass date....it simply designates the use of the glass as a Corvette side glass.
Windows are dated as such...
Soft-Ray Flo-Lite
Safety
AS2 DATE CODE
Solid Tempered
DOT 15 M74(This designates Corvette Side window)
The date code will be 2 letters...the first designating the Month, the second designating the year.
Example: JL =May '74
The months codes are:
N= January
X
L
G
J
I
U
T
A
Y
C
V= December
Year codes are:
Y= '72
U= '73
L= '74
(LATE production '74s had side glass without the "Astro Ventilation" script, starting in June/July of '74. Earlier cars/glass will have the "Astro Ventilation" script)
See if he can get you the right letters to de-code the glass before buying. You could look at the glass on your car now and find the appropriate date to look for, but I would guess you would want an XL or LL for a March-built car.
