Finally made the switch, what a difference! The stock steering was really bad, had no power assist, like driving a truck. Since we are making the trip to Tacoma I could never have made it the way it was. It is soooo nice now! Great upgrade.

So glad I did it before the trip in July. I was afraid the side pipes would be a problem, but they weren't.

I changed over from the dangerous standard power steering on my C3 to a Borgeson kit and can backup your statement as being "so nice now" this is the best thing you can do for not only your ease of steering but for the whole handling of the car. I also put Bilstein shocks all round and it made another huge improvement to the ride and handling.
The only thing that I could say as a negative is I ditched the extractors instead of modifying the number 1 cylinder tube because of clearance to the new Borgeson steering box and installed 2 1/2 inch rams-horn manifolds which made no noticeable difference to the 380 HP LT1. The other thing I can recommend is the Dragvette 6 link rear end mod, It is simple to install and takes away that rear steering that the C3 has. I live in Australia and with the AUD vs USD being at 72 cents, and our import tax of $400 AUD on every $1000 spent makes it much more expensive for us downunder. But I can say it is worth every cent.

Cheers
Brian.

Dave, did you install the Borgeson universal 600 gear box or another unit? Also did you change the power steering pump or just the gear box?  I have to do soming to my C3 L82 as the steering is so hard.
Thanks

Dave - Drove the Vette up to my daughters wedding in the Catskills a couple of weekends ago and it was a full time job keeping the car in a straight line, it has new tie rod ends and rag joint so I was looking into steering conversion kits and I saw your post.  How long did it take you to do it and where did you buy it, if you dont mind me asking!
