just wanted to get some opinions on kinetic drilled and slotted rotors. I know I am going to need a set of front rotors for the 72 as I can see they are probably thinner than what legal is. I see their is a sale on these drill and slotted rotors on another site and all 4 rotors with ceramic pads are only $190 with free shipping. Neither of my vettes have Power brakes so I thought maybe I would try these to see if they stop any better. (why would someone not order PB which was a $30 option!) Anyway was looking for your thoughts. I know I inspect quite a few trucks that have them and the owners seem very happy with them.

My opinion only, but if the price is right, go ahead and get the rotors on sale.  I don't believe you'll gain any braking performance in a street car with drilled or slotted rotors, though.  The measurable gains, while possibly there, likely won't be noticed outside of racing.  Ceramic pads is an upgrade you may see better brake performance with...and less brake dust.  Just make sure the pads are not racing composition pads...they don't perform well until heated up.

If you have a choice, get slotted rotors instead of drilled.  I've read of cases of drilled rotors forming stress cracks around the holes.

Quality will vary from dealer to dealer. Get a good recommendation before buying. Some are made from inferior metal and warp on command...

I don't think you need these china rotors..which they will be at that price..or just cheap crap..cross drilled do crack around the holes..oh and try to machine a set..set of bits every turn..and these cars need minimal run out..which means cut them on the car the day you install them...not worth it unless you race it..I did the NAPA premium rotors and pads..rebuilt all 4 calipers..fine cut all rotors on the car and it stops better than anything I have owned..face plant the windshield..these old cars don't handle all that well..run sort of ok..but they do stop..the brakes are massive and 4 piston calipers all the way around..if you need more get a parachute on the rear of the car! Spend your money on something else..like fuzzy dice!

Smile SOOO. If it does'nt wobble now, stick with good pads and leave it alone? My rotors are streight, should they be done again and up grade pads? How do you turn them on the car?Confused Mark

Hey Mark that's what I did..I did want new rotors though..and when they get replaced machine a touch just to remove any run out that the new setup had..obviously I packed the front bearings nice and happy before I did the machine work..if yours are straight then you may not need it..since I have the machine to do it I thought it would be a nice step to make sure it was perfect..its called a pro cut 9....I think you can find them online and do a dealer search..the back is a little tricky but doable..I did the best stuff NAPA had and it works great..18005436618..try this number that will get you to the company that made it..maybe have them tell you where one may be..or just head down here and I will do it for free..I got some strawberry ice cream I made up sunday you can ha e while I do it!

I paid $150 each for my drilled/slotted rotors. They are SSBC brand and work very well. For $190 for 4 with pads you are not going to b happy.
