First let me say hi to everyone,I haven't been around for a while. I starting my big project ,I'm
doing a complete brake job.(Everything from the master clyinder to e-brake)I got the master cly and I thought that a gasket is between it and fire wall(non power brakes) ,but there was none with it.On page 528 in the AIM manual it shows one.But every parts store I call including the one one where I got  the master cly have no clue what I'm talking about.Dose one go there or not I don't want to take any thing apart until I do the job.No garage so once I start I'm going to do the whole job.So if anyone know if there is a gasket or not I would welcome the input.
                               Thanks  Rick

I believe there was a thin gasket of sorts between the MC & the firewall on the non-power brakes, but I'm not 100% sure. I don't have a clue where you might be able to find one, either. You could get some gasket material, and simply make one yourself. The only purpose for it is to seal the MC against the firewall, so there won't be any air leaks from the engine compartment into the cabin.

I believe it is made of a material that looks a lot like tar paper.  Just use something that will not retain moisture.

Well I went to a local chevy dealer who has a parts guy who been there since they put a v-8 in a chevy.LOL.He pulled out an parts book for C-3's and looked up the gasket.Chevy shows the part in the manual, but don't list a part number.Iwas told at my last resort that it's not availble. So I got some gasket paper and made my own.Just for info; Zip dose have the one that gose between the booster and firewall  for powerbrakes.

Barry I'm trying real hard to be ready for the show season, but but so far it's been like dominos one fails and then the next one fails. As for work it's one day at a time, not looking good.I don't listen to the doom and gloomers, what going to happen is going to happen. If they shut us down I guess I 'll move to Floriada sooner than planed.

Well I made me a gasket for the master cylinder and put  on the master cylinder then I went to bleed the brakes, that when the trouble started(I posted for Help). Barry I hope our little group stays together for a long time, because I enjoy the road trips.By the way did you see in the paper the other day the plant manager left after 33yrs(Hmmm).Once I get the brakes together that one of my big projects done.Oh that noise comeing from my right rear Brake pad was bad.
