Hi

A replacement Power Steering Ram ball-joint kit is on its way to me from Corvette Central.  CC used to have a video showing the replacement technique, but it's no longer on their site.

Does anyone have any tips?  For instance, how to compress the base plate to remove the circlip etc.

Any advice gladly received, please. Beer

Thanks

Gary, thanks for that!   I'd done a few "google searches" and hadn't turned anything useful up!

Looks like the base plate isn't as tight as I'd imagined. Smile

may not be as tight as you are thinking, but as with anything with a snap-ring(e-clip) you might have to persuade it a little.  Obviously a little penetrating oil won't hurt,  and you might take a socket of relative size that fits over the plate and give it a few taps... sometimes run into this trying to get the locks off Universal joints...
watched the video previously posted and they have another one(same people) of putting the ball joint back together(didnt show how they took it apart, but gives you an idea of what is in there)..
