I have been deliberating over this for a while now reading all the pros and cons from other members and I must say they are really divided on the kind to use.  so I'm working on removing body mounts, and on one I had to cut the old rubber one off.  So the outside looks like crap and you would think that there is nothing left of it but let me tell you the rubber on the inside was in amazingly good shape and that's after 40 years.  Sooooo I'm thinking who am I to argue with 40 years and am strongly thinking of putting the rubber bushings back on my car, it will never be a daily driver anyway and if they are still there in another 40 years that would be outstanding.

Just as a F.Y.I., rubber is softer and gives a better ride. Poly is more stiff and is a little less comfortable in bumps. On the road at resonable speed you'll never know the difference. Not sure how price compares, but poly are on mine, and the few fast turns and G forces I experience give me a thrill that make the decision worth while.Thumbs Up

I should say, My suspension is all poly, I've done nothing to the body mounts.

Poly body mounts will drive you nuts. They will transfer much more road noise into the cabin. The older cars(before '73) had solid body mounts. They started using rubber mounts in '73 to lessen the noise, since the cars were turning into Grand Touring, instead of outright hotrods. The rubber also helps with minor squeaks/rattles, compared to solid/poly mounts. Thumbs Up

There are a few threads on the other forum about poly bushings disintegrating.  I go with rubber.

Unless you get the grease-able kind, poly control arm bushings squeak a lot.  Unhappy

Mostly poly on mine. I smeared tons of anti seize grease with zinc on them. No squeaks at all. They're more expensive though.
