I have the better KYB gas shocks on my 81, I love em.  My wrench liked the Bilstein but didnt think they were worth the cost.

We sell ten times as many KYB's as Delco.  Customers love them.

Bilstiens on my 82 for about 2 years and I luv them. I drive mine daily and the suspension is HD anyway, so a bit more stiffness is okay with me.
I don't exactly drive it like a race car, but it is nice to know it is there when I want it or especially when I need it!
Bilstiens rule!
IMO of course.

I had Delco (they were worn when I got them), I replaced with KYBs to match my metal rear spring (these were huge improvement - smooth ride). Then I changed from the metal rear spring to a composite rear spring and also changed to Bilstiens. Bilteins are great, nice solid feel to the car.

My Delco's were worn out and I replaced them with KYB's. I could not believe the difference! The ride smoothed out to the point where she who must be obeyed actually began to enjoy cruising! Considering bang for the buck, KYB's are awfully hard to beat.

So we figured out today that the 70 most likely still has the original shocks on it.
That means they need replaced bad.

Sounds like the KYB's are the way to go.

I bought KYBs, mostly for the price I paid - but honestly for the way I drive,  I probably wouldn't know the difference between any of them.

It sounds similar to a dicussion on spark plugs. So get out the coin ....
