So I have been searching for tires for the 81.  As you probably know the 2 sizes that came with my car(255/60 15 and 225/70 15) are becoming increasingly difficult to find.  I spoke to Jesse at my local Mr Tire.  Many of the brands we are familiar with, Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Cooper...show that these sizes are no longer available.  He was able to track down someone at one of the warehouses he deals with who said the old sku numbers for the BF Goodrich tire, at least in the 255/60 15 size was discontinued.  They changed the tread and or compound so they have a new sku.  Chances are whatever site or dealer you are going through is checking with the old sku number.  They also mentioned that BF Goodrich has no plans to discontinue this size.  Now if I can get Santa this info...

I think BF G and Cooper are the only ones left that make tires for out cars.  The Futura brand at Pep Boys is a Cooper tire also.

I did some research and it looks like the only place to get the 255/60R15 Goodyear Eagle GT is at Lucas Classic Tire.  The price is a little steep: $375.

I Mastercraft also makes the 255/60 15.  Not sure how that tire is.

I have Cooper Mastercraft tires on a small van and they seem to wear well and are very quiet tires. Would certainly buy again. I think they would be fine on a C3 if looking for a black wall tire. Need to get those Pep Boys Coopers for the RWL design. Good luck and keep us posted.🍻

I'm ordering the BF Goodrich.  Couple of reasons. One they are a decent tire and two the manager at Mr. Tire has been extremely helpful and has knowledge about corvettes and muscle cars.
