I have the BFG TAs on my 75. I have no complaints. I have heard excellent reviews on the Firestones.

IMO - nothing beats the Eagle GTII for looks and handling on dry ground, but for wet ground and wear they suck. I currently am running BF T/A's 255/60R15 and am real happy with them.
Thumbs Up

(Pardon. Just thought I'd breath some life in to this old thread.)

Yesterday I made the switch from the BFG's (225-70/15) to the Firestone Indy 500's (255-60/15).

The car rides great, the tires feel good!
I had mine mounted with the black side facing out. Just my preference with the Ralley wheels.

I hope all of you are enjoying your Corvettes.

Truth about tires, They are subject to ones personal preference. I still use the BFG TA's because I like their lettering better than any other tire. I have sold tires for over 20 years, the BFG Ta's do not hold up as well as they use too. I still believe "from actual use" that Michelin makes the best tire. Problem is they are much more expensive and their market is not for the performance cars. Thats a shame. They do have tires that are in the stock size many of our cars use, however they dont have a white letter tire. I truly considered putting black wall Michelins on my 72 but the looks of white letters won over. No matter what tire anyone decides as long as they are a good brand named tire I am sure they will be fine. And even if they are not the best handling, or wearing tire if you think they are the best looking tire you will be very happy.
The tire debate will continue forever!
Rodney

I have Goodyear Eagle GT II's on my '80 but that is mostly because they were original equipment when I ordered the car back in August 1979.  They look great and handle well in dry weather but suck on a wet road.  But since I rarely dirve on a wet road, it isn't a big deal for me.

One more vote for the Firestone Indy 500.
Over 20K miles on these with no complaints.
