I like the price compared to Dynamat. Just wondering what input others had.

I was considering using an under lay product like Dynamat or Eastwoods and then some of the ceramic cloth over top. I don't give a hoot about sound per say, keeping my feet from slow roasting is my main objective here.

Jute or not to Jute would be the question. I know with too much under layment there will be a fitting issue with the carpet. I'll have to pull my carpet out of the box and see if I even got Jute with it? Been sitting on the shelf for awhile.

Hi Jason, I'm kinda surprised that no one has jumped in on this subject yet, there is tons of info in the archives but it must be under several different titles. Lots of stuff about heater core valves and bypass, and one of our members discovered that the rubber hood gasket lets tons of hot air from the motor slip by into the w/w trough and down the vent pipes to our feet. Instead of the stock gasket he invented his own and extended it an extra foot or so longer down the hood. Forgive me, I'd go on but I'm trying to re coop from surgery this past week and I'm not feeling my normal enthusiastic self. Hopefully the gang will chime in and offer more accurate and complete info, or at least where you can find it.

Dang it, I missed that! They sell it on e-bay for a little bit less, but I'll keep my eye on their site. I still have to prep the inside. I'm considering if it's worth taking out the heater box or not. Not sure I want to go there, but just about everything else inside is already out and at this point I don't want to get lazy on the project.

My son-in-law does high end electronics, and has used Dyna-mat for some time.  I showed him the new Eastwood product and he pronounced it "Awesome!".  He uses it exclusively now.

Excellent, thanks for the feedback! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I'll post up pictures when I get going on it. 

I second the rubber gasket!I just had a new engine installed - this included a detailing under the hood.  I replaced the hood gasket with a new one from Eckler's, and what a difference it made!  The hot engine air stopped entering the cabin - in fact my wife was complaining about the COLD air that was blowing on her legs!  I now am seriously rethinking using the expensive stuff to insulate under the carpeting.  Heat is not an issue.Now the engine noise from the headers through the true dual exhaust is another issue - but that "growl" I'm willing to live with
