1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

My trim plate has more broken attaching screw places than it has useable ones.  I have a 82CE  Power windows, Power Mirrors, Defroster, etc.  I noticed that most catalogs and even ebay list an 82 with all of the above. Looks just like mine for around $40.  Now if you go to the CE version of the same thing it is around $100.

My question is what is the difference between a trim plate for an 82 with all the stuff and a 82CE with all the stuff.  If it is the chrome trim I got that figured out.

Mine was Black with chrome edges.  The interior of the car is pretty beat up by the sun.  So I can not tell if it had any type of metal flak in the paint but he gage cluster would have had the same type of finish I assume and it is pure black with chrome edges.

Yes.  The CE center clusters and console trim are actually a dark brown; they are not black and they are one year only.

So what you are saying is you will pay $60 for a paint job on two items.  You are also saying that it is so dark of a paint that without accually comparing it to a real black console it would be difficult to see the difference.  Is that what you are saying.  Cause mine sure looked black to me.  I will agree that it could have been a blackish brown.  I could have missed that I guess not having anything actually black around.  I do know it is a paint job because the back side sure is just Black Plastic.

The unique color and the fact that it was a one year only is what makes almost everything for a CE about 1/3 to 1/2 more expensive.... but they sure are purdy Thumbs%20Up

Yes they are one of a kind but they are not Red.   Did I say that!  It is just paint so does anyone know the color and where one would be able to purchase it.    Main reason is I'm planning on replacing the radio and I will keep the CE dash gage/radio console.  So the only ones that I have found that are already cut for a radio are in black.  Which would require painting to match.

Ideas Please?

Here is a photo of the center console for some questions you may have or gotten from these.   I would go with precut black and repaint them CE color.   The Console Brown might be DUPONT/ D8262J Interior Color.

Hope this helps you.
