"Speakers" in a vette. Who needs speakers. Rolling On The Floor Laughing Just need some loud mufflers and go cruising! Actually I have the sound bar in my 74. I upgraded the radio to a 4 speaker system. I replaced the fronts with the factory replacements then put the sound bar in the back. They have very good sound but wont blow you out of the car if thats what your looking for. They do take up little space and I actually didnt use the center section. I just hung them from the back that way the interior light still gives off "very little" light as it was designed.LOL I just drilled them into a ledge under there and used tie wraps to keep them high enough that  you cant see them. I will probably get another set of them for the 72 as well! Hope this helps.

Here's the post ebo mentioned

I eventually grew tired of the lack of space if gave me and ended up getting my stock radio upgraded to modern ciruitry with an iPod connection.  But it did sound good when it was in.  The powered sub really worked well

I upgraded the radio with the new circuitry as well. They take out the old radio guts and replace it with modern technology. Then as said above you can get an I-pod hook up which is a great addition. There are many places that will do this update. You also get more output which makes a much better sound. Great choice.

I forgot to mention that after I had that done, Mid-America started selling those new radios with the new guts.  If I had to do it again, I'd go that road since it would leave me with the original radio intact.  The price of the radio they're selling is the same as what it cost me to get mine upgraded.

Rockford Fosgate makes a super compact Amp that is perfect for the limited space in the C3's  "PBR300x4"  About the size of two packs of cigarettes.  Super clean design.  Low heat output.  I am using one to drive the 4x6 kick panel speakers, and the 6 1/2"rears, and a second (with a crossover) to drive the headrest speakers in the Fiero Buckets I am installing.  I am using a "PBR300x1" to drive a single 10" Short throw Sub-Woofer.  I am still building the low profile box  for the rears and Sub, using the space behind the wheel wells while trying to maintain as much of the limited cargo space as possible.  I will post up pictures and a diagram for any that are interested, once I finish.  But I will be travelling for a couple of weeks and will finish when I get back.  I have decided on a replacement single DIN Bezel, so that I can accomodate an Alpine XM/iPod/USB receiver with a mini antenna that will mount on the front of the dash in front of the defrost.  Its about the size of a quarter.

Check out these two sites.  http://mrmikes.com/ Does an excellent seat  upholstery for the Fiero seats in a C3.  Plenty of pictures to browse thru as well.  The second is basicly instructions on building brackets that will allow you to use Fiero seats , with the factory C3 tracks.  Took me about 4 hours to get mine converted.  the conversion gives you the Clam shell wrap around seat, and alot more comfortable.  84 fiero seats have dual speakers inside the headrest..  Not going to be pushing a ton of wattage thru them, as they are only 3 1/2 in.  But the mids and highs wont have to be blasted to hear them over the motor.  http://www.corvettec3.ca/fiero.htm chances r2011-08-08 16:30:48

Thanks Chances R,

Actually I am going to replace my seats. Now I know what type of seats I will be replacing them with. Did you get your seat from Ebay, Dealer or some other place?

Darrell
