New corvette owner. I love this forum. I do need help on fixing the steering column. It tilts to the right. I can put pressure on it and move it into the correct position,(about an inch of play), but then it springs back into the old position. It is pivoting at the tilt location. Any ideas on what is going on?

Does the entire column move, or just the upper, tilt part? If the entire column is moving, then you should look down at the firewall, where the column goes thru, and see that it is bolted up properly.
If it is just the upper, tilt part of the steering wheel that is moving, then the two bolt/nuts that hold the tilt section of the column are loose..but...that usually allows the steering wheel to move in all directions a little...just floppy all around.

Check out the article by Jim Shea that Bob posted...I haven't seen it, but I know anything Shea puts out is right on the money, and usually written simple enough for everyone to understand.Thumbs Up
