As I have mentioned in a few previous posts, and as some of you may have noticed over the past month, I have been mostly absent from C3VR.

My new full-time job has become very demanding and time consuming.  At this job I actually have work to do (unlike my last job), so I don't really have time to check in on C3VR during the day.  Plus, I have more responsibility than my last job, and I am on a project that the company is counting on for major financial improvement.  I have been working 50-60 hour weeks, including working on the weekends.

Outside of that, I have a need to spend time with my family, as I'm sure many of you know how that goes.

So what is left is time to sleep.

So, my apologies to any of you that are awaiting their membership packets or lifetime member items.  They will get out, but it is taking longer than usual.

DNV (Dennis) has been kind enough to take on the responsibility of editing and producing Shark Bytes for me. Thanks to Dennis for that! He can use help with articles (they don't write themselves) so please contact him to offer some assistance with that.

The other big thing is the 2009 gathering.  As mentioned in my post about this, I really do not think I have the time available to plan the 2009 gathering, and I'm fearful that if someone else (or others) do not take on the task, it will not happen.  I believe dwright and ebo have taken on some of the planning, but I'm sure they could use help, especially from folks that live in the New England area.  So if you can help out, please contact either of them.

Finally, because of my absenteeism, I let C3VR's 7th anniversary go by without acknowledging it.  It occurred on November 1st, 2008.  I would like to thank each and every one of you for being a member and supporting this club.  I do believe that we have a very special group here and make use the finest all C3 club in the world!  Without your financial support and physical involvement with the site, we simply would not exist.

So, thank you to all for your support, understanding and contributions to C3VR!

Hey Boss. I do know you have been overwhelmed at work, and appreciate your need to be with your family when you have time. We will be fine with your situation I'm sure, but we need to know what we can do to help you here when needed.

I am not really in a position to help plan the gathering, however I am here to help you any way I can.

I am sure I speak for all here that we appreciate all you do to keep this family together. Thanks Boss. "T"

Work puts food on the table and heat in the living quarters.  Your dedication and inspiration in the founding and development of C3VR is appreciated more than you could know!  The core group of people you rely on here have your back...I can tell.  I'm just glad to be a small part of a great community, although I have little to offer, but I CAN offer great accolades to those who offer more.

Keep up the great work...EVERYONE!

Adam, You do what you have to do. Mom and the kids are #1 and should stay that way. The gathering will go on, we will work as a team. I am willing to do what I can. I have contacted some of the closer members and will assist them.

adam,
no need to apologize, you've done a great job the two years i've been a member.  take care of yourself and your family.  if none of us worked we couldn't even afford our hobby/passion.  i'm sure people will step up to the plate as needed(more hands=less work) and the registry and its events will go on in the tradition you set the ground work for.
good luck to you!

As has been said, no need for apologies here, Adam. We're all grown-ups(well....most of us, anyway...). We can all understand the difficulties of trying to juggle too much at one time, and expecting not to drop something.
We'll be fine until you can get caught up, and we're willing to help any way we can, if needed. Adams' Apple2008-11-17 07:55:47

Adam - What has been mentioned above is absolutely true.  Take care of your family and work responsibilities first.  I am sure among all of us, we could get done what needs to get done.  If there is a list of non-Gathering duties you can post, please do.  I would be willing to help out.

As a long time member, I know what a special place this is.  There is no doubt this family will come together as it has in the past.

Adam, I reiterate what has already been said, and add my thanks to you for your resolve in putting C3VR where it is today!  You have managed to organize a great group of people who enjoy a similar passion, and are willing to help anyone who also share the love of these automobiles.   I believe that the help needed to continue the community will materialize, as the need is known, and the passions remain.  Your focus is correct, and your request for aid in keeping the site and community viable and strong only raises my admiration for you.

Adam:  I sympathize with you entirely and appreciate all you have done.  I really appreciate the time and effort you expended on the C3 gathering I attended and gave the seminar on detailing. I appreciate the attention you gave to me and mine at the muesum (sp?).
Now, it is time for all of us to give back to the C3VR in any way we can.  Rest assured I will try to assist in any way that I can.  Just let me know what needs to be done and if I am able I will certainly assist.

Adam, I think all the family here understands your situation and supports you fully.  As everyone has said, family first, job second and we can take care of most of the rest.  Just check in when you can and let us know how things are going.  We're all pulling for you and are here for support if and when you need us.  God Bless.

Adam......no worries mannnn...

You can't stop this train......you have built it to where it's bullet proof.

Just work faster and harder at work give them the big payoff they want and get a cozy corner office job LOL
We will have the gathering under control, just worry about showing up and paying the bill for anything we break.
Take care of yourself, I'd say that sometime in Jan. this group workin the gathering may meet up in Newport for a little get away weekend to nail down some stuff if you want to jump in for that trip.

Adam, as you can plainly see....the C3VR group is truly one family that can be proud. Everyone stands united to help each other. I really can't understand how such a great group like us, exists. Remember, your blood family does count first. The C3VR is actually bigger than any one person, you started it and we all thank you for your Vision. Adam,

We all do what we need to do, and in order of priorities such as you are doing. This group is too big and responsible to let anything happen to C3VR. I can tell by all the different formats and all those responses to them, along with all the chat rooms. I myself don't always have the time to participate in many of those but I can see what kind of bond there is here. So ease your mind about the affairs of C3VR and take care of your personal affairs. Not to worry, C3VR will be here for a loooong time.

Take care

First off Adam I think you have been blessed. In a time when good jobs are scarce you have secured employment that sounds to be rewarding, challenging, and has security.

You have developed a wonderful registry that continues to grow each year. There are many folks here with a common bond and through the registry many lasting friendships have been made. For this I personally would like to thank you!

Please enjoy your family... they are a vital part of C3VR family as they allow you to give a portion of your time to the registry.

Hopefully there will be folks step up to the plate and help. I believe there are many talented people here who have the ability to do some good things if given the oppertunity.

Adam,

There are always times in our lives that we need to re-establish priorities.  Your time is now.  Take care of the family and the family will take care of you.  After working 40 years for the government, I learned that things will take care of s\themselves ----in time.

Thanks for all your hard work.  You may be gone for awhile but not forgotten~!!

We all have had to adjust to life in this new economic age - Outside of our faith life our first priority is to ourself, then to our family, then to our employer, the rest of it is somwhere down the line - this is a fun hobby for most of us but its just that. We all appreciate what you do and have done, and we all understand what employers are expecting nowadays and doing what we have to do just to keep ahead of the bills.  Luv ya man!

Adam! No apologies neccessary. You are doing the right thing for yourself and your family. I have been there. I have enjoyed being a member for the last few years even if I have'nt been able to participate as much as I would like. I too have a number of family obligations.
