I just got a letter from Lance Miller regarding Club Parking at Corvettes at Carlisle 2011.  Here is what it said:

[QUOTE]
Corvettes at Carlisle 2010 is in the history books and we're now eagerly planning for the 2011 edition! Your club is one of the grandfathered-in clubs from previous years and we appreciate your continued participation. This past year we had a few complaints regarding the club areas so I wanted to make sure each club was aware of the rules and regulations.

First let me share a bit of background on the club tents.  My late father, Chip Miller, originally opened the door for any Corvette club to participate and arranged for a designated parking area on the Fun field for each club. Soon it became apparent that some clubs were becoming a bit too territorial. Since this negated his vision of keeping the Fun Field FUN, he decided to discontinue the program.  The original clubs that participated in the program were welcomed back year after year and after his passing I was happy to continue to fulfill his wishes.

The rules and regulations for each club that currently participates in the program are:
  1. There is a specified area for each grandfathered club.  This area will be better marked moving forward due to some minor issues this past year.
  2. The designated club area will be based on the number of pre-registered cars of each individual club so please encourage your members to register early.  Example: If 28 club cars are pre-registered for Corvettes at Carlisle, Carlisle will supply ample space for those 28 vehicles only.
  3. Each club must have at least 20 pre-registered vehicles or the club space will not be available for future events.
Corvettes at Carlisle is happy to announce we will be hosting our first ever "Club Challenge." It will be open to any and all Corvette clubs, not just the grandfathered clubs.  We're letting our grandfathered clubs know first because you've been our strongest supporters since the inception of the event. The top 3 clubs (measured by most vehicles registered for the event by a particular club) will not only have bragging rights but also Carlisle will supply a banner for the winners, the club will be listed along with a picture in the future event directory and we'll feature your club on our website.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. We appreciate all of your support and look forward to seeing you in the future.  Mark your calendar now for the 2011 Corvettes at Carlisle, August 26-28!  I hope you and your club had a great 2010 and I wish you a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous 2011.

Life is good,
Lance Miller

This is a tough one... I personally have been to all but one of the C@C events over the years and honestly I never liked the idea of club or registry parking ...That is NOT to say I did not participate because I sure did....  I always parked in the 63-67 Stingray area where that registry had 50 or so spaces "reserved" in the flat area within an easy short  walk of and facing the grandstand...

BUT both the C3 and C5 registries were way up on the hill and far away...not prime parking in my opinion... I always skipped the isles where the 100 or so identical Grand Sports and Anniversary cars were parked next to each other...boring looking at 100 Grand Sports ...

It was nicer when the first Corvette into the grounds could park anywhere plus you got a chance to meet somebody new every day and see different cars every day....  I'd vote for opening the entire field up to park where you can BUT reserve one of those BIG Tents for a couple of hours for each registry to hold a get together ....

Actually my best C@C events were all  pre registry parking days ...Those Steeltown CC members  out of Pittsburg were a fun bunch  to park with, drink with, BS with and laugh with  as were the Canadian bunch who imported their own beer but could not sing worth a darn......

Hey, Adam, I just Registered for Corvettes at Carlisle and they don't list C3 Vette Registry as a club. I had to put it in manually. Should it be listed? I don't want to lose our area.

Barry I have my fingers crossed....  That I will be able to drive... its been one thing after another...That 35th Anniv Vette I purchased in December (with an automatic that I knew I could drive safety in traffic) has gotten all of 18 miles on it since I purchased it.. and that was to one of our Corvette Clubs meetings...

My son took me for a ride in the 64 98 and 76 last weekend ..hoping he will get the 72,79 and 88 out this weekend...  BUT he may have to bleed the brakes on the 79...(pedal goes to the floor as usual in the spring...

Having the cars sitting the last 2 years have not been good for them and my wife is starting to notice I'm getting GROUCHY....

I registered last month, but I don't remember if I put down a club affiliation. I plan to park where it says C3 Vettes.
I never new it was a free for all after 10 a.m.

DO not worry about the free for all after 10 AM..... it is not normally a problem ... some Registries do attempt to keep you out all day...BUT all you have to do is tell them where to go and tell them to call a Carlisle Staff member,,,,

Still hoping to get to Carlisle... still not driving ..still have Cather inserted, JP tube and a Tube draining my kidney thru my back...into a second drainage bag.... at least I have stayed out of the Hospital for almost a month now...
