Do you guys stay at the same hotel? How soon do you need to make reservations? I've never been to Funfest but would like to go this year.
Any info would be nice.
Thanks,
Dave

Last year was my "very last first time" at Funfest.  I ended up staying at Mattoon, IL about 30 miles north of Effingham.  My travel budget for the year was pretty well max'ed out so I didn't feel like paying the "big bucks" to stay in the immediate Effingham area.

Here's a list of places to stay directly from MAM's website.  Places in Effingham charge premium prices during the event and fill up early so it may already be too late to find a place right in town.  I'm told many do have "waiting lists" so you might get lucky and snag a room from someone who has canceled.

Good luck...!!!

Can't beat Norsky's post of places. I can give advice on 3 of the listings. Clean affordable place to stay Super 8 in Effingham, Have a friend who stayed there for several years and it was nice.

Comfort Suites in Effingham. My wife and I stay here with 5 other local vette couples. Have been staying here since 97' and reserve our room a year in advance. Continetal breakfast, pool, free cleanup towels and car washing. Great time sitting in the parking lot visiting with the other Vette people. Had a barbeque this year and the Hotel sprang for free beer each nite for those who drink.

Timbers Lodge in Stasburg - cool place if you can get a group to rent it. It is a log cabin 3 story home in the woods. It is out where the "Hoot Owls screw the Chickens". It is so far in the boonies that I actually saw a holstein calf tied up to a CALF HOUSE? (best desription - like you would a dog)
The log house is awesome with a large deck on the backside, a hot tub & pool tables in the basement. A large fireplace in the living area and a nice kitchen area. Each floor has rooms and a shared bathroom at the end of the hall. (that was a bad thing according to my misses. I took it as an adventure to meet new friends.)
There is horseback riding if you desire. It is owned by the Timbers restraunt (a few miles away). You pick up the key at the restraunt and your on your own.
It is an 1/2 hour drive to Effingham but it is quick and you go by Mike Yagers mansion on the way in to town.(That way you can decide if you wanna attend the $150.00 black apetizers by the BowTie Pool with Mike)
Timbers Lodge would be a cool place for a group of C3's to hang for the weekend...
