I haven't been, can't go this year, probably will go next year, but I do know that I've heard it is a great time. I'm sure there must be C3VR members that can tell you about it from past experience!

My wife and I will be driving our Vette to Effingham for the FunFest this year. We went last year for the first time and we really enjoyed it. Last year it was the weekend right after the 9/11 tragedy so the mood was a bit somber as a result of that, but, approx. 3,500 beautiful Vette's still showed up for the event. That was the lowest total they had in attendance for the last few year. Fortunately, they are not all C5's. Lots of C3's were there last year. If you have never been to Mid-America's facility you are in for a great experience. Their "MY Garage" is a car-lover's (especially a Corvette) dream come true.

I'm not sure what all is planned this year, but, there will be lots of interesting ways to spend your day. Last year (I assume they always do this) they had a large tent with reduced price items for sale, exhaust systems on actual cars to listen to then you can purchase your choice and have it installed in a matter of minutes, plenty of food, and an evening live band concert.

It's a great time and the price is right. You won't be disappointed. |cheers|

Thanks for the info.....I am really looking forward to it. We are sort of making a family trip out of it. My dad drives a 99 so my mom and him will be going along with me and a friend. It sounds like a great time. I was sick this year for "Bloomington Gold"....so, this was the next big event that I could make. Maybe I'll even get a new part or two while I'm there!!!

I'll be going there for the first time as well Stef.I've been working real hard on my baby so she'll be a reliable mode of transportation.I've been driving it evrey chance I get(mostly weekends/sunny days).I just bought it in December(it had been really neglected).I've giving it alot of TLC(much needed)Costly but worth it.I've always wanted a Corvette, since I was a kid.Now it's like a dream come true. They are the only true american sports car..Hope to see ya there. |smile|
