In case you were planning to attend the C3VR Mid-Atlantic Gathering and Keystone State Corvette Club cruise-in on 4/9/2005... and in case you were not already aware... it has been canceled!  There were some problems in the administration at Keystone State CC so they canceled the cruise-in, which in turn affected plans for the C3VR Mid-Atlantic Gathering.  So it looks like we are planning to reschedule the C3VR Mid-Atlantic Gathering for the weekend of 6/12, and have it focus on the C3VR sponsored Corvettes for a Cure in Phoenixville, PA.

Please use this thread for any information regarding the new date/location for the C3VR Mid-Atlantic Gathering!

Jimmy,

June 11th is fast approaching. Got any ideas on the C3VR gathering in your area? Location, times, etc. I'm thinking afternoon to evening - maybe at Ron's Schoolhouse as previously planned?

DATES FOR THIS EVENT ARE 6/10-6/12/2005.

Here are some of the details that I have so far:

  1. Motel: Residence Inn (Great Valley / Exton) at the intersection of Routes 100 & 113 - same motel as previous - they have a free hot breakfast, an indoor pool & spa, a fitness room, and high speed internet access - rate = $99.99 per night gets you choice of a king size bed or a queen size bed AND a sleeper sofa - phone 610-594-9705 or 800-331-3131 - website : www.residenceinn.com
  2. I spoke with Adam - he is going to get with County Corvette to set up another FREE tour of their nationally known, state of the art, restoration facility - the tour will be on Saturday, June 11th starting around 11:00 AM - we can caravan to there (about a 30 minute ride) - I think if we meet in the Residence Inn parking lot around 10:00 AM we could spend a few minutes together and be ready to depart around 10:30 - the tour includes FREE coffee & donuts.
  3. After the tour we will return to the motel - if any of the group wants to get in some shopping, we pass right by the Exton Mall on the way to & from the tour - we could drop off / pick up passengers that do not wish to go on the tour - when we get back to the motel, anyone who wants to work out or swim will have some time for that - or the Pizza Uno restaurant is next door if someone wants pizza and a cold beer
  4. Dinner Saturday night at Ron's Schoolhouse Grille - time : 6:00 PM - that should give everyone time to get rested / cleaned up and ready for an evening of Corvette BS stories - we can also talk about another get together later in the summer - Ron's is about a quarter mile away from the motel on Route 113 (South)
  5. After breakfast on Sunday morning, we can caravan down to the Corvettes For A Cure show being put on by the C3 Vette Registry and spend the day with Adam and some more Corvette folks
  6. Depart for home after the show ends, or whenever each of us has to leave

I do need a head count for the tour, there is NO LIMIT on the number of people for the tour ... they want to know how many donuts to buy.

I also need a head count to make reservations at Ron's for dinner. So, I need to know how many people are coming altogether. Plesae REPLY and let me know what your plans are.

Thanks.
Jimmy

UPDATE 6/11/05:

Here is who has said they WILL be there:
Jimmy - available anytime
Adam - available anytime
tricer - arrive late Saturday
Iron82 - arrive 5pm Saturday
Sarge81 - arrive late Friday

Hi Folks,

Just wondering who is coming to the C3VR gathering on June 11th in PA.

Haven't seen anything from too many folks other than Jimmy, IRON82, AdamW, and myself. Earlier this spring (April) the following said they would come:

BLU72, DWRIGHT, CRAZCORKATH, SARGE81, PROBLEMENKO, BOB GRIFFTHS, VETLOVER, ROGUE WAVE, 2 CRUZN, and BIFF.

So ... let Jimmy know so we can get dinner reservations on Saturday night. Plus a headcount for the restoration shop tour on Saturday morning. How many are staying over for Adam's "Corvettes For A Cure" car show on Sinday?

Doesn't look like we will make it that weekend as we are getting "married" the following Saturday at our house. I will be busy doing un-vette  like stuff (mowing, trimming setting up etc) the week before . Make her happy those couple weekends and I will be lookin good the rest of the summer ... I hope.. was looking forward to that trip before we decided to make the big day this summer.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the gathering. That weekend is the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for which I am deeply involved.

Hope you all have a great time.

Adam,

Michele and I will be there. We will drive up Friday and have to leave Sunday. She's starting a new job at the VA hospital Monday. Must make a good first impression.

Terry,

We'll see you and Bev this weekend. Have a couple on ice for us!

So far, no one has expressed an interest in the County Corvette Restoration shop tour. If we don't get some favorable responses by June 1st, I will have to cancel it. Please let me know if you are interested.   Thanks.     Jimmy

Jimmy,

In addition to Adam's list of attendees, I've got an approximate headcount for dinner on Saturday (based on arrival times):

AdamW - 1
Blu72 - 2
SARGE81 - 2
IRON82 - 2
TRicer - 2
Jimmy - 2

Sounds like 11.

Another head-count update above.

I think we're going to have to scrap the tour of County Corvette on Saturday morning.  I've seen it, Jimmy has seen it, Sarge is the only one that is scheduled to be there in plenty of time to make it there. Blu72 will be cutting it close.  So even if Blu72 makes it, that would only be 4 people, 2 of which have already been there.  I don't even think it is worth it for CC to hold the tour if only 4 people are going to be there.  We'll have to come up with something else to do that day.

Hi Everybody - Well, it's June 1st and still there are only 2 takers for the tour of the County Corvette Restoration facility, so I guess we will cancel that activity.      If anyone wants to get in some shopping or use the pool, etc Saturday afternoon is wide open. I will make reservations for 12 people for dinner at Ron's Schoolhouse Grille at 6:30 PM on Saturday evening. I think it would be best to get together in the parking lot of the Residence Inn motel around 6:00 to 6:15 PM ... Ron's is only a two minute drive from the motel. As I have said before, they have good food and cold beer ... along with wine, soda, ice tea, etc. See you all then.                       Jimmy

Sorry fellas, I am going to have to back out of this trip. I really wanted to meet everyone, but for sure some other time. We are building a house - I am the builder, LOL, and we are in contractor hell right now. The house needs to be finished before July 4th, a big event is planned for my grandmothers 100th birthday bash.

I am truly sorry, I feel so bad after all this planning and everyone's hard work trying to make this happen.

I am so dissapointed...what else can I say?

Bummer Bruce,

Understandable though. House stuff always takes priority over vette stuff. Maybe we'll see you at C3X in BG this fall. Give our congrats to your Grandmother for achieving the "Century mark." I bet she's seen a lot in her lifetime. lol.

Thanks Sarge, I feel a little better, but still bummed.

Yes, grandma is quite a lady, still sharp as a tack, asks about the "Old Chevy" all the time LOL.

I was thinking we could group up at Corvette Carlise, nothing really gets in the way for this one...

It was great to get together with some folks from the Mid Atlantic region. Should do this again before winter. How about some time in September - maybe here in MD in conjuction with our Corvette Annapolis Corvette car show at the Naval Academy's Navy-Marine Corps Stadium. I'll post more details as I get them.

If you do pick a Sunday.  I need over two weeks notice.   So I can try to plan on going.
