I just received a letter from Lance Miller (text below). I'm not sure we can do anything about it at this point, but perhaps contacting him might make a difference.  If I remember correctly, some people had trouble registering with C3VR as their club affiliation, so maybe that is why our number was lower than 20. Did anyone have that trouble? Maybe if enough people did, we can get them to give us one more year.  I just don't know if it would help at this point.

This will obviously make it very hard for everyone to park together this year. Unhappy

Update 4/17/2013: We have been granted space for one more year, but you must register correctly.  Please see this thread on how to register properly.

April 8, 2013

Dear Adam,

As the New Year approaches I have began to eagerly plan for Corvettes at Carlisle 2013. As you know, your club is one of the several grandfathered clubs that have participated at our events from previous years.  I truly appreciate your continued participation however as indicated in my letter dated September 7th, 2011 I have had to stress the importance of participation in order to maintain your club spot.

Based in the last three (3) years registration numbers, your club was significantly below the required 20 Fun Field pre-registrations required to maintain your reserved spot. With this being said, I will regretfully have to eliminate your spot from the Fun Field for 2013.

(then it goes on to talk about the new "Club Tent" which is a paid space/booth, not a parking  area.)

Life is good!

Lance Miller

WTF??
I always registered under C3VR, I dont know how anyone could have any problems in doing so. You simply write it on the registration form under "affiliation" or "group" or whatever the hell the box says.
This is total crap!

I also have pre-registered under C3VR the last several years.  I do remember 1 year that I chose C3VR & it was not on my sticker.  Could we have possibly even fit 20 cars in that spot?  I know we couldn't have fit another car in last year, but I don't know how many we had.Disapprove

Ouch I have ALWAYS registered under C3VR. It has not always been on the list to register for a club we were affiliated with. I put in the blank area C3VR. Most of the time other people have parked in OUR ares and we could not get our own cars in there. 20 cars in that spot, YES. C3VR participats NO. 50th anniversary cars were predominate as I recall.

I regestered under C3VR and it was not on my sticker, it just said fun field. May be the numbers are low because they were not picking up the club info on the registration.

So does that mean there will be another group assigned to that spot or can we just park there anyhow?

My guess is they'll either assign that space to another group, or it will become general parking.  So, I just went to the 2013 Online Registration page, and see under the Club list, it has "C3 Registry" AND "C3VR" as two separate selections.  I wonder if some people from our group picked "C3 Registry" last year.  Apparently, that is actually a different group - remember the "C3 Registry" group photo at the grandstand last year?

The spot will most likely got to "Corvette Pals". It was posted this morning that they are  leading the club registrations with 17 entrants so far. I am already but maybe all of us going to Carlisle should join Corvette Pals so we have a place to park Angry

That doesn't really help our cause, Dan. That only helps Corvette Pals.  Nothing against them, but they are a different group.

I just spoke with Lance Miller...

He is going to give us another year.  So we WILL have a space for C3VR folks in 2013.  But you guys are going to have to help out and make sure to register naming us as your Club Affiliation, not Corvette Pals.

They are going to update the registration page to make sure to indicate our club name correctly, as soon as they are done, I will message everyone to tell them what name to use when they register. So if you have not registered yet, please wait until I get the word that the registration page has been updated.

Thanks!

Well I certainly didn't want to give the idea to abandon C3VR, only as a means to get a parking spot if there was no other avenue. Jumped the gun a little I guess. Great job on convincing Lance to give us another chance Thumbs Up

So, I'm confused, does this mean you already registered for C@C 2013 and listed "Corvette Pals" as your club affiliation?

I misunderstood. I didnt realize it had to sat C3VR on the sticker.  i always register with C3VR as my affiliation but it never shows up on my sticker.  It either says "fun field" or "show field" on the sticker.
So essentially, it seems we are getting screwed because CAC is messing up our registrations.
I'm a little bitter.  So we are "granted" another year... who's to say we wont get the proper identifications on our stickers again and we will end up getting screwed next year.

anyway, rant over.  Thanks for getting in touch with CAC, Adam.

Okay...let me get this straight...if our window sticker DOES NOT say C3VR and only says FUNFIELD, like mine did last year...we are NOT registered under C3VR?? I did register under C3VR last year and the sticker did not match. Will there only be 1 C3VR or C3 Vette Rgistry entry on the pull down list? And if our sticker comes back FUNFIELD what do we do? Confused
Okay...partially answered my own question...the drop down list has us under C3VR right under C3 Registry...so be careful when you click on club affiliation Exclamation

Well, I'm glad you are all as passionate about this as I am!

As soon as I get the final word on the registration process for our group, I will let everyone know.

I'll also ask about the window stickers, and what to expect on them.

Thanks!

Dan,
DO NOT REGISTER YET!

I'm waiting for them to update that list to make sure it is right.  As I mentioned above, once they have updated the list and I have all the proper info, I will let everyone know it is ok to register and what to pick on that list.

Thanks.

I asked them to tell me if anyone has registered under either name so far for 2013.  Hopefully they will, and if they are on the wrong one, we'll get them switched.

I prefer to park and register as C3VR! After all, it wouldn't be the same without my Buds! Then it would just be another show.  I am also a member of Corvette Pals, but my first allegance is to C3VR, and always will be!

Adam - Thanks for going to bat for us with Lance.  I can't imagine that we haven't had at 20 registrants.  Here's a good Q...what about folks who registered for the flag (Al), or were picked to be in a bldg. (Dave Wright), or registered for the car corral (Dave Stoffel?).  Do they count??  His letter says only Funfield counts.  Just wonderin ?

I'll be registering as soon as the coast is cleared Thumbs Up
