Just exchanged e-mails with Tom DeWitt and their annual radiator sale is on until Jan 26th. 15% off plus free shipping. Here is the link from the 2012 sale on Corvette Forum, http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-tech-performance/2985372-dewitts-radiator-sale-is-on.html. I am going to call on Monday to verify the same details hold true for 2015. Great radiators, but definitely a little pricey so I think the sale is the right time to buy if your in the market for one.

I bought a Dewitt radiator 4 years ago for the 72. Very high quality and looks extremely good in the car. I also bought their matching fan kit as well. Great company to work with. I was hoping they made radiators for my Dart I am doing but no luck. I would buy again from them and to find their product on sale would even make it better!

I have a DeWitts in my 74. If I was to do it again, I would still go with them, but I would pay the extra to get the black paint.

That's what I did.  Was only another 25 bucks I think.  Looks factory.

So just clarified the 2015 Sale details with Tom - see below:

1. You must order from our website, no phone orders.
2. You must use promo code Jan2015
3. Discount of 15% off anything in your shopping cart.
4. Sale ends January 26th, 2015
5. Allow 2-3 weeks after placing order before expediting

Any odd stuff, not on our website can be emailed to john@dewitts.com

Unfortunately no free shipping for 2015, mine will still be on order by the end of the week.

You might want to also checking pricing through Summit Racing. I ordered my DeWitt radiator through them. I got a good price and free shipping.

So my new "Black Ice" De Witt radiator arrived today. Wow it sure does look Purdy !! Unfortunately now I get to tackle the C3 version of a Rubick's cube - the '73 radiator/fan shroud. The good news is Bubba hasn't done much "fixin" on this car so the original shroud is intact. I haven't done one for a while without removing the hood but that's going to be my first attempt. That therory may change depending on how removal of the old unit goes !!

Ouch  Removal of the front upper A-arm bolt will make things "MUCH" easier!

Tips I've heard;

Take the hood off if you can

Loosen/remove the core support bolts so you can tilt the radiator/core support forward somewhat.

I didn't remove the A-arm bolts on mine.

Radiator comes out before the shroud comes out.

Make sure you install all the sealer strips so all the air goes through the radiator.

Thanks for all the tips. The old one is out and the engine bay is going to get some clean up before the new one goes in. Tilting the core support forward worked great but my therory of leaving the hood on didn't last as long as my first cup of coffee !! Can't tell if the old radiator is original or not yet. It appears to have the right tanks, inlet and outlet tubes but it does not have any kind of petcock or drain fitting ?? I spotted some type of ID tag on it, I'll keep it and do some research. Major amounts of cleaning and flushing out the block and heater core are on today's agenda.

So the new De Witt aluminum radiator is in. Perfect fit and it looks great !! A few more things to hook up tomorrow, fill with anti-freeze then re-install the hood. Looking forward to a test drive if the weather cooperates.

Make msure you "Burp" that cooling system, before you seal it up. Don't want a air bubble!

Hey guys I'd love to post some pictures but Windows 7 and IE 11 will not work with this website. Added updated pics to my photobucket, here's a link if you're interested.

http://s42.photobucket.com/user/jlsigmund/library/

Aside from the pics, the install is complete. Fit like a glove, looks great, no leaks and runs nice and cool !!

No issues with burping the air out. I've always been a fan of the t-stats with the bleeder hole or I drill my own .060-.080 hole, never had a problem. I also tried one of the new Felpro (#35562T) molded t-stat gaskets. $10 is a little steep but no sealant required. Need the weather to cooperate so I can get out for a good road test, but so far I am sold.

Overall A++ on the De Witt direct replacement aluminum radiator.

I put the DeWitt in my 68 and it looks great and dropped the temp from the old big block radiator. If fact DeWitt was the only major radiator company that would return my call when I was in the shopping mold. That is why I purchased from them.
It has been in the car for over a year now and no problems. I also purchased the electric fan kit.

Holy crap, finally got a pic to load - now using Google Chrome for this forum, IE11 refused to cooperate !!

De Witt's "black Ice" manual radiator straight out the box.

Fit like a glove and looking good.

Installation complete, checking for leaks.
