Hi Ladies,
I'm in a local vette club in NYC. Although I enjoy the guys, I'd like to socialize and learn more about the cars with some ladies. It just seems like we ladies are non-existent or in the back ground.
If there are any women who would like enjoy their cars and learn something, answer this post. Especially ladies in the NYC, NJ area.

Hey Ladies, I hear you loud and clear!
I guess the guys are more into working on their Vettes, where I know when something is wrong and take it to a mechanic, LOL!
Will be here to support you! You know, I would love to design better "T's" and jackets for women for Vettes, than what the vendors have out.....its like I was in Target today and saw a cool T-shirt, but it had the word "Mustang" on it, but the lettering was cool, so I thought wouldn't the word Vette or Corvette look cooler....
My favorite T-shirt says, "Real Women Drive Vettes"
So heres to the Real Women of the World!

Hey greypoupon69,
No I'm not an artist, but I know what I like and some of the shirts and sizes that these vendors have at shows suck! If I would just settle down and not get involved with all the things I do, I would like to design and color coordinate shorts, t-shirts, hats, socks, the whole 9 yards as a line for Corvette Women! All the women in my club complain about the clothing for women also....but liked some of the t-shirts that I bought plain and then had my club name,my name, and the C-3 put on the back......
so just a fantasy, I guess I should follow....... Hey are you going to Pigeon Forge, maybe we both could persuit this???Somthing to think about!

Hello girls!
I've been a screen printer since 1976. Have owned my own shop since 1996. We specialize in car art/prints.
AND....I'm a girl! And I own a 1973 Corvette.
If you get enough interest, maybe we can work together. Clothes made for women, printed by a woman owned shop! There are quite a few ladies styles to choose from. They even make a basic T in a woman's cut!! (for those of us that are too old to wear the cute body hugging shirts...LOL)
(hope I'm not breaking any rules by offering my services! If so, please remove this message)

Hey Adams Apple!
Great ideal! See two heads are better than one!
Sent Adam an email, so we will see what he says!
Thanks!

Micki....We don't have to use our artist. He's expensive, but you get what you pay for. No headaches because he's an expert at designing art for t-shirt printing. He doesn't use clip art or the computer to do his art. It's all hand drawn and the colors are hand separated. This sets his art apart from other t-shirt artists. I will send you some pictures of what he's done for other Corvette clubs and Corvette businesses. But anyway! We sure don't have to use him. You can do the art if that's what you all decide on, if this goes through and there is enough interest to make it worthwhile. (read: cost effective)
Not going to PF. We're too busy doing local shows. Also, being self employed, we can't leave the shop closed for that long. But the rest of you have a GREAT TIME there!

Hey Ron 78,
Thanks for the input. Don't have the greatest pictures of my vette yet, will post something ASAP. Shirt ideas sound great.

Hey Misti,
I feel you. I usually take my vette to the doctor too. However, I'd like to learn more when possible and hang out with the girls and the vettes. I agree about the T's they're usually two miles wide and long! I don't own too many T's because I'm small.
Anyway, come on ladies who else is out there, let's do it for ourselves!

Hey Mistyrunner,
I noticed you have an 81' also. Ever had any heating or air conditioning problems? I'm hearing terrible noises when my heat goes on.

Hey 91 Blessing,
I didn't have any noises but I replaced the original water pump, lasted 24 years, and when that didn't solve the problem, I replaced the radiator..now, I can run the air.....no problem, and you may just need them to check your fluids for ac...and like adams apple said, some animal may have gotten in and decided to take up housekeeping, like little mice ....or you just may need to check your blower motors.....
Hope you find your noises!
Theresa
Hey 81 sorry about taking you up to 91, typo!
LOL,
Theresa
Hey Misty & Adams' Apple,
When I turn on the heat, air or defroster it makes a real loud noise, something like a motor running but not properly. It happens on med. or high. It also gets louder as I speed up. I got the car in 11/04 and never used the hear or air. Living in NY I need heat in the winter so I just park it. It also fogs up bad in the rain. So bad I can barely see when driving.
It does sound like I need to fix the blower motor. I'm going to take it to my guy just wanted to see if anyone had simliar problems. Thanks.
(Misty, thats OK I'm a C3 girl at heart, LOL)

Ok....
I don't shop for purses until the one I have is worn out. I buy the smallest purse I can find that will hold my necessities because I hate carrying a purse! I miss the days when all's I needed to carry was my wallet in my back pocket. But as I've aged, I now need to carry medications and such.
I've only owned large dogs, so don't have a "Tootie" that will fit in my purse. The last dog I had was a New Foundland. She would hardly fit into a purse!
I've always been "one of the guys", even as a child, and I like it that way. I've never been a "girlie girl". I wear jeans and ladie's tops. I hate shoes and go barefoot as much as posible. (A woman who hates shoes? Is it possible?) LOL! My "dress up" clothes are black jeans, a nice top and black strappy high heeled sandals in summer, or cow"girl" boots in the winter. I won't wear flats or pumps. See? I DO have a feminine side. LOL I like my hair long, I do wear eye makeup, and I keep my natural nails long and polished. To sum it up....I fit the lady in the song: My Kind of Girl.
I've been a car nut since my teens. In high school I took auto mechanics class. Only class I got straight A's. Was the only girl in the class for 2 years. I was right in my element. I was also on a pit crew for a drag racer. Spent every minute I could at the drag strip whether we were racing or not. Stood on the corner at school with the guys talking cars. Girls hated me! LOL
If I had a million dollars I would spend 1/3 at Home Depot, 1/3 at an electronics store, and 1/3 on cars! That's my kind of shopping!
I've learned to get along with the ladies, but I still won't sit in the kitchen with them when the guys are in the living room watching football!
I was 40 before I got my first Vette, a 1973. I still own that Vette and it still needs a lot of work. I've put all my money into my "show and go" 1972 Monte Carlo and into making the Vette mechanically sound. For now we drive it half put together and ugly, but it's still a blast to drive! As long as it's driveable, I'm happy with that until I get a few more dollars saved up to start putting it back together and making it nice.
There you have it!
Mickey
Alrighty, seems like we have some action going on here. I agree let's make this an interesting fun/forum. Anyhow, tried to start my vette today and it wouldn't start. My friend says the sparks plugs are probably clogged. Before starting I put in some Stablizer fliud because it sits a lot. Anyone know the best one and what's the best way to winterize these cars?
It's really my fault for not starting it more. I'm going to tow it to my mechanic soon. But nice to know what not to do.
(PS Mickey, got to admitt I love shoes. Give me a good shoe sale and I'm good to go. Power to the cars too!)

[/QUOTE]Thanks Grey,
My quick fix mechanic chargered it for me, but it didn't work. So, I'm going to try it again soon. I do plan on investing in a charger also. Thought of changing the battery too. I bought the car in 2004 with this battery and as you know NY was hit with lots of snow and low temps. recently so maybe it's time. If not I'll tow it to my real mechanic. It needs some work anyhow.

Hey Mick!
I'm here. Been super busy and just haven't had anything to say.
How's the winter been in TX compared to "normal". Here in Denver, CO. we haven't had a winter. We've had a couple of cold snaps, but dry. Only plowed three times so far this season. Hoping Spring will bring some good snows. I need some Vette repair money! It's going to be low 70's today and tomorrow. The northern and central mountains are doing great as far as snow goes, though.
How about everybody else? Mild winter this year?

Do we really need ice to make it scary with crazy people on the roads? The first time we took the Vette out for a drive after bringing it home and having the seats recovered and all that.....3 blocks from home almost got broadsided. That's just one of many instances.

Hello everyone,
It is nice to see that there are other vett girls out there It is always a learning process but very satisfying to do something to your vett yourself!!! I am in Connecticut and cannot wait to be out cruising in the warm weather!! I bought my first vett--a '70 convertible-- in December and am having the original motor rebuilt so am especially anxious for spring.

Thanks for the interest, so glad to be a part of the vette world!
I certainly don't mind you asking how I came to have a C3. The two things I like talking about most are my 21 month old son and my vette. Coincidentally my son's birthday and my vett's build date are the same!! Cool right!! I have always loved muscle cars and have always thought when I could afford to have a hobby car it would be a late 60's Shelby Mustang. We bought a 1960 vette for my husband about 3 years ago and I was going to look around a bit for a car for me. After going to shows and cruise nights I was bitten by the vette bug, if there is such a thing. I decided that I liked C3s best especially chrome bumper cars. And I like the 70 better becuase of the fender flares and low production year, plus engine compression was reduced after 70. I quickly decided a 4 speed 70 convertible. Fortunately my husband can fix almost anything but I am relatively mechanical and enjoy working on the vettes also.
I don't have any photos of my vette becuase she does not go out with snow and salt on the road. And the engine is at the machine shop being rebuilt. But I have a photo taken of my car at the dealer in Texas where I bought it from. If I can figure out how to get the picture on here I will post it. I am anxious to get it outside and take some nicer photos.
By the way the "Gold Thing" is a beauty!!! Charity
